Swing-trading With Ryan Mallory

Sinopsis

When it comes to trading, I have a few beliefs that I stand by...- Anyone can become a successful trader...and I do mean anybody. - If you focus on the risk in a trade, the profits will take care of themselves. - There is no place for an ego or a win-at-all-costs mentality. If you want to become a profitable trader, you can...and I can help you do exactly that! I was't born into a hedge fund, or the off-spring of a rich banker. Far from it - I worked in corporate America, and I hated it. I was underutilized, underappreciated, and overlooked on a daily basis. I hated what I did, and felt like a ship lost at sea. That is when I decided to do something about my life, and fall back on the skills that my dad taught me with a small inheritance of $5,000 at the ripe young age of eleven. I started swing-trading again. I balanced the responsibilities of corporate America while managing my trades in a dynamic stock market. I spent my nights studying and creating watch-lists and figuring out how I could consistently profit without any major setbacks along the way. And you know what? I did it. It didn't happen overnight, and there were times where I doubted myself (actually a lot of times), but in the end I gave the boss my two-week notice, and now I get to trade with you fine people every day. Where did SharePlanner come from? At first, SharePlanner was intended to be a way for me to express my thoughts on the stock market and to document my successes and lessons learned from the not-so-successful trades. But now, having gained quite the following over the years, SharePlanner has become one of the internet's longest running financial blogs, as I've posted thousands of real-time trades, wrote over 10,000 articles, and survived and profited from multiple market crashes and am known within the trading community as being a person of consistency, transparency, and reliability. I have developed an enormous obcession for helping traders find success in the market and actually see their account at year end flashing those heart warming green numbers that are so desired. For years, I have helped swing-traders find their niche in the stock market and each year, I have posted eah and every trade I have ever taken, and you know what? Each year I have finished with a profit. That's because I manage the risk, first and foremost, and I don't allow myself to hold on to losing trades. If you're interested, I specialize in swing-trading equities both long and short, educating traders on how to do it, and helping them succeed and become the best trader they can be.

  • Why Risk Matters

    09/07/2020 Duración: 13min

Risk in 2020 mattered for a moment when the stock market plunged in late February all the way down to its eventual bottom on March 23rd. But now it is a thing of the past as traders place bets and wager big that the stock market will go up forever. In a market that doesn't seem all that risky, why does managing the risk still matter? I go over this and more in this podcast episode. • Why The Crowd Always Loses

    13/05/2020 Duración: 16min

The stock market crash and the subsequent stock market rally has everyone hoping that the worse is behind them as it pertains to the stock market, their 401(k), IRA's, and other retirement accounts. However, what the crowd does in regards to the stock market, and in particular to trading is rarely the right move. In fact history will tell you that ultimately the crowd is always wrong. You have tons and tons of first time traders opening accounts with Robinhood for the first time in hopes that they are special an can benefit from the current stock market bounce and make riches like they have never experienced before. Instead, they are likely to be the bagholders that take the brunt of the losses, when this market takes a nose dive lower once again. • The Stock Market Rarely Makes Sense

    05/05/2020 Duración: 14min

The stock market perplexes people on a daily basis. People try to understand why the stock market goes up, why the stock market goes and everything in between. The fact is, the market rarely makes sense. I mean look at it right now, we are in a full-on recession, and the Nasdsaq 100 is looking at potential new all-time highs in the coming weeks. But here is the thing, you don't need the market to make sense in order for you to be profitable in it. You just have to trade it based on what the charts are saying. • When Oil Goes Negative

    21/04/2020 Duración: 13min

Something happened in the stock market that has never happened before and that is the price of oil crashing and going below zero into negative territory. Everyone was immediately excited by this thinking, "I can get paid to buy oil", or "gas at the pump is going to be free". All of these fallacies couldn't be further from the truth. In this podcast I detail what oil contracts are, why, negative oil prices only lasted for a day, and why you take on infinite downside risk when you start buying oil thinking you might get paid for doing so. • You've Been Screwed

    15/04/2020 Duración: 16min

You might be getting $1200 from Uncle Sam but what has unfolded over the last couple weeks means you've been royally screwed by the federal government. The biggest wealth transfer, further deteriorating the existence of the middle class, and expanding the wealth gap between the rich and poor was pass by both parties and signed into law this past month and further exasperated by the unchecked power of the Federal Reserve. • Buy Quality or Buy Catastrophe

    02/04/2020 Duración: 14min

With every stock practically discounted at this point (sure there are a few outliers), people, who have the cash to do so, are turning their attention at potential buying opportunities. For many their focus turns toward the most catastrophic names in the stock market like the airlines, the cruise lines and other specific names like Boeing (BA) and Restoration Hardware (RH). But are those the stocks you should be focusing on, or should you be buying up the high quality names and reducing risk in the process?
