Ken Michal and Running Stupid
06/08/2019 Duración: 48minSend us a text#29 - Ken Michal has been running ultras a long time. He's also been podcasting a long time. Running Stupid has been up and running for over 10 years. It's unlike any other podcast of its kind. His personable approach; friendly, determined, yet somehow, humorous mannerism is perfect for a personal account of all his races. He gives us race reports like no other, especially his Hurt 100 reports, they are not to be missed. Hawaii's Hurt race is one of the hardest of all the Hundos. He tells us why he loves it so much in this episode and why we all need to keep going. He also explains what happened at this year's Western States. You will be motivated to run after this episode, or at least to dream about running, he has that kind of affect. Bay Area Trail Racing Yesterday and Today
28/05/2019 Duración: 52minSend us a text#19 - The San Francisco Bay Area is known for having the most open space for such a large populated area in the US. We're only minutes away from some amazing trails and many are easily accessible via public transportation. Trail running started early here and the earliest trail racing company was Enviro-Sports, started by Dave Horning, which started putting on triathlons. He shares some of the company's early history and how the racing scene has changed over time. I also speak with Wendell Doman, who most people know as Wendell. He's been running Coastal Trail Runs for a while and is not new to the racing community. In fact, Wendell has participated in the Barkley Marathons a few times. Run Through Your Life
14/05/2019 Duración: 56minSend us a text#17 - They say the 60s are the new 30s or the 70s are the new 40s or....I think what they're trying to say is that we all get older but that shouldn't stop us from doing what we love. If you're listening to Martha Runs the World, I'm guessing you love to run. There's no reason aside from major medical conditions, that anyone should stop running just because they're past 35. Sure, we may have to switch things up a bit or add a few extra steps into our workout routines, but we can do this! In this week's episode, I'm joined first by Tony Portera, co-host of the podcast Ultradiner, where with co-host Ruel Abadam, they talk about all things in ultra running. But Tony is more than that. He is Ultrarunner Extraordinaire and reminds us that we can keep going as long as our legs take us. Then I'm joined by Lara Zuehlke of the podcast Fit Over 40. Lara is a fitness and food expert and helps us understand ourselves and how we can improve our lives as we get old

Maura O'Connor and Physical Therapy
02/04/2019 Duración: 29minSend us a text#11 - What do we do when we're injured? Do we shrug it off and hope for the best? Do we stick to our race? Or do we defer and seek out help? Unfortunately, too many of us do not get the help we need through physical therapy. Maura O'Connor has been a physical therapist for a long time. She explains to us how important it is to get the help we need and why we runners should never be afraid to ask for help. I also go over a more effective way to foam roll.
