The creation of this film saved me from the every growing creative anxiety and depression I feel each month. Crippled by other's suggestions and reflections of what a perfect film is, I sink. Others suffer from peer judgement. I struggle with overwhelming demands on my own creativity. The battle between volume of content and creative freedom and expression. If you're ever wondering what's in my mind outside of work, family and love, it's an addiction and obsession with producing valuable content that moves emotion and wicked banter to why the creative story today is lackluster or the inescapable need for sleep and energy - forcing me to stop execution of a strong story. I wake up and yesterday's footage is rendered null with the non existent motivation to move an old story vs create a new one today. Creative depression is real. Creative execution is too. This film is about much more than our camera getting stolen. These things happen. They suck, yet, they happen. This film was more about mixing new with old and creating a proof of concept for vertical cinematography. If you've been following me from the beginning, I hope you spot nods to the beginning, middle and now of my filmmaking progression. A gold star to anyone that recognizes the intro soundtrack. This film wasn't just about mixing talking head with action. It was about going from peaceful films to suspense and thriller undertones. As far as the camera, while I was looking for a new tire in Wal Mart, I smartly parked the cart to the side, "I don't need this", when I found they didn't have the tire I needed. Walked out like, "I hope they don't stop me for not buying anything." Should have heard my spidey sense. When creating, gear breaks, gets lost and stolen. It's just part of it. https://21daycleanse.org Really enjoyed filming for Sarah Fields. This one was really special. When doing client work, a lot of filmmakers default to the standard corporate style films and leave the person's emotion, beliefs and world views at the door. With complete creative freedom, I opted to share Sarah's passion and love for the earth. We talk about how flow and how our bodies are connected the earth. Sarah share's her beliefs on water and fire and how it directly relates to our bodies and pain. I wanted to capture Sarah's celebration for life and nature. In her 21 Day Cleanse, we talk about what causes pain and how her methods can help. From this film, with story in hand, I created 5 promotional films that talk on segments of this film. A lot of people try to force 3 minute promo film out of a shoot. I find that it's necessary to know the storyline first. Similar to making a trailer to a movie that hasn't been made.
