The Villanova University football team is two wins away from a national championship. The 12-2 Wildcats have advanced to the national semifinals of the FCS playoffs, where they will host Illinois State on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Villanova Stadium. The Wildcats have defeated Harvard (52-7), Lehigh (14-7), and Tarleton State (26-21) to this point, winning the last two games on the road. Villanova brings an 11-game overall winning streak and a 23-game home winning streak into Saturday night. Illinois State is 11-4, and the Redbirds have won all three of their playoff games on the road. The winner of this game will play the winner of Montana/Montana State for the national title on Jan. 5 in Nashville, Tennessee. John "Hench" Murray has served as the radio analyst for football broadcasts at his alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, for 44 seasons. Gary Williams was one of the greatest college basketball coaches in history. The Collingswood, New Jersey native won 668 games in 33 years as a college head coach at American, Boston College, Ohio State and Maryland. He is probably best known for his 22-year run at his alma mater the University of Maryland, where he led the Terrapins to back-to-back Final Fours and the 2002 National Championship.
