Brian Martin is emeritus professor of social sciences at the University of Wollongong, Australia. Brian's formal training is in physics where he has a BA from Rice University and a PhD from Sydney University. After achieving that, he worked for a decade at the Australian National University as an applied mathematician. Brian also studied the politics, sociology and other aspects of science, whose relevance (or lack of it) he could often see in his day-to-day work. During this time Brian became involved in the radical science movement, the anti-uranium movement and the peace movement. Brian has spent a great deal of his lifetime fighting a myriad of things that he sees as injustices. From nuclear power to workplace bullying he has spent many years as an activist. Brian is a published author having written many books on a variety of subjects including nonviolent protesting, whistleblowing and activism. Brian is a very level headed, clear thinker who has assisted many whistleblowers on a national scale
