Ashely Somics is a two time kidney transplant recipient, 1999 and 2016. A former classroom teacher, turned social movement creator/director of Get Loud for Kidneys. Get Loud For Kidneys is all about finding your voice within the area of kidney awareness.  Ashley inspires people with stories from recipients, donors, and family members and helps empower them to GET LOUD about their own connection to kidney disease. Her main goal is to humanize kidney disease and to help create human connections of kindness, compassion, to give people hope and create change.Ashley was diagnosed with kidney disease in junior high school and had to start dialysis. She was very private about her health all through her life up until she needed a new kidney and no family member was able to help. She turned to social media and got loud about her need.
