Didn’t take long before flag pins and “we stand with Ukraine” tweets turned into a growing chorus from the neocons of “lets set up a no fly zone.” We need to be very clear about what a no fly zone means- it means US planes would likely shoot down Russian planes, and they would respond in kind. It would also require continuous flying of US/NATO planes to keep Russian planes out of the sky, with the constant threat of Russian SAMs shooting at them.
