Sinopsis

In 2011, singer Nelly Joy told a doctor that she thought she had endometriosis, but the doctor just chuckled and said, "Most girls have painful periods," handed her birth control and Nelly went on her way. She spent years navigating kidney issues, anemia (blacking out), IBS, and constant throwing up from pain while being on the road doing an arena tour with Jason Aldean and Eric Church, opening sold out shows, being in and out of the ER not knowing what was wrong. When she and her husband started to try to have a baby, the road continued to be rough, including IVF and a devastating ectopic pregnancy. At this point in her journey, she's going the IUI route, channeling her pain and experiences through her beautiful music, including her new song, "Baby Showers." Her story is not over yet--stay tuned.  TOPICS COVERED IN THIS EPISODE: Infertility; endometriosis; endometrial cysts; IBS; kidney issues; debilitating pain; IVF; ectopic pregnancy; pregnancy loss; egg retrieval; acupuncture Listen
