On a remote California ranch, the dogs were the first to sense it, standing rigid at the fence line, staring into empty darkness. By morning, strange tracks circled the property: prints that shifted from four legs… to two. Then came the voice. Their mother calling from just beyond the yard, while she was inside the house the entire time. A week later, a goat disappeared.
