This week, we debut a new monthly segment: Socialism 101. As socialism reenters the mainstream of American politics, we first ask the question, what exactly is capitalism? We then get into a Marxist analysis of capitalism and how that analysis is relevant today. We are joined by Derek Ford, an assistant professor of education studies at DePauw University and a community organizer whose latest book is “Politics, Pedagogy, and the Post-Truth Era." Ford is also the editor of Liberation School.Later, we talk with Chris Garaffa for our regular monthly segment, Tech for the People. We discuss the implications of Cloudflare's dropping of 8chan, as well as Amazon's collaboration with over 200 police departments across the country.
