Blasst

Not speaking today. Not because of the apparent music industry "blackout" that's happening today, which...I don't even know what that means, honestly. No - my decision not to speak today is in response to the reaction that people in the Rio Grande Valley had to the recent solidarity protest in Edinburg on Saturday. Their reaction was full of anti-blackness, and was a stark reminder that no matter how 'progressed' the Valley thinks it is, it still has a lot of work to do in unlearning its own internalized racism. So, for today's episode, I've put together a playlist of some pretty incredible Black artists whose work I admire very much and I eagerly wish to expose you to (if you haven't heard of them already).
