  • Episode 1: "Where You Belong"-The Gift of a King Week 1

    03/12/2023 Duración: 37min

Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong? Belonging is one of the most fundamental needs we feel as humans. To know that others accept you, welcome you, and care for you is vital for human flourishing. And yet, especially in our post-pandemic and increasingly virtual world, it’s so easy to feel alone. In the opening verses of his Gospel, Matthew gives what seems like an odd introduction to Jesus, a genealogy tracing Jesus’ lineage back to Abraham. But Matthew isn’t simply giving us the names in Jesus’ family tree. He’s telling us something much deeper about who Jesus is and who he came for. Matthew wants us to see that, if you want to know that you truly belong, you don’t need to look any further than Jesus. More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #whereyoubelong #advent #geneology #christmas #sundaysermon #lovegodservepe

  • Episode 1: "Why Give All" Matthew 22:15-22

    26/11/2023 Duración: 36min

Thank You for joining Easton's Pastor Of Family Ministries, Luke McAlack, today. We are looking for something. We are human and part of that experience is the pursuit of things like worth, belonging, and meaning. There are avenues upon avenues for where people could look, but as we examine Jesus and his response to a life-changing question in Matthew 22, we see the root of all worth, belonging, and meaning. The best part? Jesus gives us the space to search, consider, and decide. As we look at Jesus’ powerful ellipsis (a statement that creates a …), we see God’s concern for us to understand our worth, belonging, and then act to share our lives. More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #whygiveall #thankful #gratitude #sundaysermon #lovegodservepeople

  • Episode 10: "The End of the Matter" Ecclesiastes Week 10

    19/11/2023 Duración: 42min

Have you ever felt like you had no good options? That no matter what you tried, you couldn’t win for losing? In many ways, that’s the conundrum Solomon wants us to feel, that life is a puzzle you cannot solve, a mystery you cannot unravel. But this isn’t some brainteaser you read for fun and then toss aside. This is your life!As Solomon leaves us with his final thoughts, he offers us the solution: “Fear God and keep his commandments” (12:13). It’s not the kind of solution that solves the puzzle. It’s probably not the solution we want to hear. But it’s the solution we need to find joy and meaning in the puzzle of life. More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #ecclesiastes #endofthematter  #sundaysermon #lovegodservepeople

  • Episode 9: "When Your Time Comes" Ecclesiastes Week 9

    12/11/2023 Duración: 41min

When your time comes (I know we don’t like to think about that), what kind of person will you be? Right now, you’re laying the foundation for who you’ll be in your old age. Some people age gracefully, full of joy and happiness despite their growing infirmities. For others, old age only brings sorrow and anger. You might not realize it, but the decisions you make today will shape the kind of person you’ll be, not just tomorrow, but years from now. So, who will you be by the end of your life? What kind of person will getting old make you? In his prologue to the epilogue of his book, Solomon wants us to wrestle with the reality of growing old so that we’ll use the present to make our future—even old age—into something beautiful. More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #ecclesiastes #oldage #somethingbeautiful #sundaysermon #l

  • Episode 8: "Ignorance Can Be Bliss" Ecclesiastes Week 8

    05/11/2023 Duración: 43min

Have you ever walked down the cereal aisles and felt paralyzed to decide what to buy? Or maybe it was scrolling through the endless movies on Netflix trying to decide on the perfect movie to watch. Which cereal is the right one? Which movie is the perfect movie? Sometimes life presents us with too many options with too many unknowns and it’s hard to know what to do. So, what should you do when you don’t know what to do? In the opening verses of Ecclesiastes 11, Solomon shows us that life is unpredictable and outside of our control. But while we don’t know the future, that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t act. Realizing how little we know and control can be paralyzing and frightening. But when understood in light of God’s ultimate control, that same realization can become an opportunity to live generously.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblec

  • Episode 7: "An Inconvenient Truth" Ecclesiastes Week 7

    29/10/2023 Duración: 45min

Here’s the inconvenient truth you don’t want to hear. You are going to die. Death is no respecter of persons and—barring Jesus’ return—death is coming for you. Which could be a depressing or hopeless thought for some. But for Solomon, the reality of death is the sharp wedge we need to dislodge our hearts from the meaninglessness of life and discover real meaning and purpose that comes through anticipating the life yet to come.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #ecclesiastes #inconvenient #truth #sundaysermon #lovegodservepeople

  • Episode 6: "When Life Punches You in the Face" Ecclesiastes Week Six

    22/10/2023 Duración: 44min

We are natural planners. We look to the future, we dream, we strategize, and we anticipate problems and plot solutions. And then life punches you in the face. You can plan your vacation, but you can’t do anything about the unforeseen sickness, or the car breaking down, or the flight canceled, or the weather. You can plan your retirement, but you can’t do anything about the disease you never saw coming. Or the financial crisis, or the job loss, or the phone call that changes everything. When life punches you, there are two ways we try to cope. We either try to punch back or, if that doesn’t work, try to escape. But what Solomon wants us to see is that the only way to find real peace in this world is by accepting our inability to control everything and surrendering to the One who holds the whole world in his hands.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eas

  • Episode 4: "The Infinite Game" Ecclesiastes Week Four

    08/10/2023 Duración: 36min

How much is enough? (Did your heart just whisper, a little bit more?) We live in a dog-eat-dog world, where (we’re told) you have to take all you can, or else someone will take yours. Envy drives us to work more so that we’re not missing out, often with little or no concern for how our actions affect others. We’re in it to win it. But what Solomon wants us to discover is that chasing after more only makes us less. That we were not made for a finite game—victory at all costs—but for an infinite relationship with the God of the universe. And it’s only in knowing him that we can share our lives with others.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #ecclesiastes and #infinitegame #finite #sundaysermon

  • Episode 1: "re:generation - Receiving God's Grace"

    01/10/2023 Duración: 41min

The word “Recovery” denotes that something has been broken.  We’ve all experienced brokenness in our lives at one time or another.  That brokenness, that sin that we’ve committed or that was committed against us has had an impact on our lives, and our relationship with Christ.  There may be sinful patterns, idols, or misplaced worship in your life as a result of that sin.  Steps 4-6 of Regen address taking inventory of our lives, confessing that sin to ourselves, God and others, and developing a plan of repentance.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #regeneration #grace #recovery  #sundaysermon #lovegodservepeople

  • Episode 3: "Time is on Your Side" Ecclesiastes Week 3

    24/09/2023 Duración: 39min

Time is a strange thing. Sometimes it feels like it’s stopped, other moments it seems to be passing by at the speed of light. And within every moment of your life, the future becomes the present which becomes the past, never to come again. Being aware of time’s passage is one of the most poignant ways that we feel our mortality. This week we want to look at what the book of Ecclesiastes has to say about time, how we experience it, and how we can make the most of it.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #ecclesiastes #time #timeisonyourside #genuine #sundaysermon #lovegodservepeople

  • Episode 2: "Life is a Gift" - Ecclesiastes Week Two

    17/09/2023 Duración: 41min

Imagine for a moment that you were smarter, wiser, wealthier, and more powerful than anyone else in the world. Now, imagine that you used your wits, your money, and your power to make yourself happy. How could you fail, right? You’d have it all! Surely, you’d be the happiest and most fulfilled person in the world. This week, we’re looking at the next section in Ecclesiastes, in which Solomon takes us on a quest for happiness. But instead of finding happiness by amassing vast amounts of knowledge or achievements or pleasure, Solomon wants us to see that life isn’t a trophy to be won, but a gift to be enjoyed.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportnj #ecclesiastes #meaning #lifeisagift #sundaysermon #lovegodservepeople

  • Episode 1: "Your Life of Hevel" - Ecclesiastes Week One

    10/09/2023 Duración: 41min

This week, as we look at the opening to the book of Ecclesiastes, we want to dig into what Solomon calls hevel (“meaningless” or “vanity”), which Solomon spends several verses describing. What exactly does Solomon mean by hevel? In what ways is life characterized by hevel? And how does that truth point us towards the life that God wants for us? • Episode 1: "For God So Loved" Gospel of John Chapter 3

    03/09/2023 Duración: 31min

Welcome. In this special message, our Pastor of Adult Ministries Colin Baker, shares some some raw and real things about his life and how coming to know Jesus changed everything. We hope you are led to consider how your life can be changed today, and forever, through the Love of God and forgiveness of Jesus."For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." • Episode 6: "The Remedy of Reality" Tech-Savvy Week 6

    27/08/2023 Duración: 41min

Jesus is a catalyst, model, and ambassador for what was real. I don't mean that Jesus wasn't a big proponent for virtual reality in the first century AD. However, as we look at Jesus' interaction during his earthly ministry, we see beautiful pictures of authentic love, effective empathy, and perfect understanding leading to conversations and actions bringing about truth in an individual's life. As we consider reality, it is important to define just what Jesus displayed and taught. Jesus saw past people's perceptions of God, the world, and even himself. He was and is expectation defying. This message examines a pair of examples in which Jesus cut through pretense and assumption, in love, sharing a message that created space for the reality of our deep dependence on God that could be seen, heard, felt, and experienced. As this is applied to our attitudes, actions, and responses regarding technology and current cultural norms that reinforce self-promotion, self-satisfaction, and self-fulfillment, we see Jesus ser

  • Episode 5: "You 2.0" Tech-Savvy Week 5

    21/08/2023 Duración: 40min

How far would you go to improve you? Taking vitamins? Healthy diet and exercise? Medical procedures or surgeries? What about technology that would keep you alive indefinitely? Or a hard drive that could contain your consciousness, even if your body gave out?  Today, the idea of moving past our human limitations, in one way or another, is thought by many to be within our reach. Transhumanism, for example, seeks to transcending our humanity through technological advancements that would enhance our bodily functions and abilities, perhaps even give us near-immortality. Mind uploading or cyber-consciousness is the idea that we could upload our minds to a digital medium so that our consciousness would live forever. This week, we want to consider what transhumanism assumes about being human in light of God’s design for humanity. Because how we understand our humanity will determine how we think about our bodies, our minds, our souls, and our future. More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office

  • Episode 4: "Our Search for Significance" Tech-Savvy Week 4

    13/08/2023 Duración: 36min

Once upon a time, if you wanted to be famous, you had to be on T.V. (And there were only a handful of channels, which meant very few people ever made it big.) But today, everyone has a social media platform at their disposal, which has generated seemingly countless online celebrities who gain hundreds of thousands, even millions, of followers through clever pranks, crazy antics, song and dance routines (literally), product endorsements, and more. Most people who use social media are not trying to become “social media influencers.” But how we use social media can easily turn into never-ending quests for personal significance, often leading to increased anxiety and depression as we subtly plead for other’s attention and affirmation. In Jesus, however, we can find a significance that cannot be lost or diminished.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#easto

  • Episode 3: "A Heart-Healthy Digital Diet" Tech-Savvy Week 3

    06/08/2023 Duración: 33min

Living in our technological ecosystem, our lives are shaped by a thousand mostly unconscious tech-driven urges every day, to check our email, post a selfie, or watch another YouTube video. As has been well documented, many technologies like social media, gaming apps, shopping apps, and streaming services are designed to feed addictive urges and appetites that keep us coming back for more.In his letter to the Corinthian church, the Apostle Paul writes, “’Everything is permissible for me’—but not everything is beneficial. ‘Everything is permissible for me’—but I will not be mastered by anything” (1 Cor. 6:12). Using technology isn’t a sin. (Though how you use can certainly be!) But it can still exert a powerful control over us that we often ignore. As a result, we’re often unconscious of the ways in which our use of technology consumes our attention and prevents us from experiencing the life we were created for. More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or

  • Episode 2: "The Allure of Leisure" Tech-Savvy Week 2

    30/07/2023 Duración: 38min

Work. It’s not always our favorite thing in the world. In fact, it’s probably tempting to think of work as something to be avoided, even despised. After all, who would work if they didn’t have to? Who wouldn’t rather enjoy a life of ease instead of working for a living? One of the promises of technology is that it will make work easier—maybe even eliminate it altogether—so that we can enjoy not working. This, we’re told, is how life should be: effortless, easy, and comfortable. A life of leisure. This week we’re looking again a Genesis 1 to consider what it is to be human, made in the image of God. And, while God does rest, the creation account offers an entirely different perspective on work. That work has value because God worked. And as imagers of God, we were created to do work that gives purpose to our lives and creates good in the world.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you f

  • Episode 1: "The New Religion" Tech-Savvy week1

    23/07/2023 Duración: 41min

Never in the history of the world has humankind had more control over life. Technological advances have given us the ability to cure disease, grow crops, produce wealth, build cities, and ease suffering unlike anything the world has ever known. (For which we should be grateful!) But, buried underneath our use of technology is the myth that technology can give us ultimate control over reality itself. That with technology, we have the power, not only to make the world better or improve people’s lives, but to become god-like. This week, as we start this new series on faith and technology, we want to look at how technology has become what we hope in for the control and power we crave. It’s our new religion.More info https://www.ebc.org or call (609.267.4755), email (office@ebc.org), DM us on Instagram or Facebook, or come see us in person at Easton Bible Church. Thank you for subscribing and sharing.#eastonbiblechurch #hainesportn #techsavvy #newreligion #sundaysermon #lovegodservepeople
