Today we're going to talk about the difference between theater and drama in the classroom. But first let's do some Theatrefolk news. I have to say I am pretty jazzed at what's happening over on our Facebook page. I think there's like cool stuff going on. First of all we have hit over 7,800 followers, fans, likes. Whoever you are, we adore you because that is a lot of people who don't personally know us, hanging around, reading our posts, putting up their own posts. I just think that's pretty cool. This podcast is coming out May 1st. Today, the day I am speaking to you, is not May 1st. Did I tell you I am going away? And so I am and frankly, gosh darn it, it’s so difficult to accumulate news for the future. Waa! First world problems, I can't do my podcast properly because I'm going on vacation. Waa! So what I wanted to do was I’m going to tell about some of the news plays that I've got bubbling in the Theatrefolk test kitchen. It’s a lovely kitchen. It has a gas sto

Getting and Giving Feedback
03/04/2013 Duración: 21minEpisode 35: Getting and Giving Feedback It's necessary. It's evil. It's a necessary evil. Oh no not really, but there certainly is an art and a skill to giving and getting constructive feedback in the arts. Just so you know, telling Lindsay you don't like her work is like having a piece of her soul ripped away. Oh no not really. Ok, yes really. Show Notes Get our latest Catalogue Lindsay's three rules of getting feedback One: Write it all down. Two: Never address the feedback in the moment. Three: Always wait a week before re-visiting what you wrote down. Time and time again I have written down someone's feedback and in my head said, "This is the stupidest thing I ever heard." And a week later I look at it again and go, “Crap. They're right.” Happens all the time. Distance is important in accepting help. These steps work for me, maybe they'll work for you.
