When you become a Christian, you enter into a covenant relationship with Jesus. That changes everything. Grace changes everything.

God's commands are good. The enemy makes them look binding and boring like they're cramping your style. But, God's commands are always for our good and His glory.

Knowing doctrine and theology is vital to knowing who you are so you can be who you are. Many believers continue to struggle with the same sins over and over, year after year because they don’t KNOW who they are. Christian living is dependant upon Christian learning. Duty follows doctrine. If you’re spiritually ignorant, you’re going to be spiritually impotent.

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound?

It seems too good that Jesus took punishment and I get the benefits. So, in 12-21, Paul talks about one of the most important aspects of justification. Theologically, it’s called imputation.

What makes Christianity very different than other faiths when it comes to serving is we do not serve in order to earn the favor of God. So I don’t serve others so that I may have a résumé I can throw out before God and say, “See? I can get in, huh? We’re cool, right? I mean, look at this. I worked at this homeless shelter." No, that’s not my motivation as a believer, as someone who sits under the gospel. I serve others because I have been greatly served, and I mimic my Savior because I have been conformed into the image of the Son and the Son has set an example for me about what service to the world looks like.

Something has gone wrong with how we define community and how we define and function in relationships. Now at the simplest level, the problem with our relationships, the reason why so few of them are satisfying and long-lasting is because they are built on commonalities that change, and as those commonalities change, so does the relationship.
