The Apostle Paul wrote to his children in the faith, “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you. I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.? We can trust God with our children since they are ultimately His children, He has given us the opportunity of influencing them, training them and one day allowing them to own their own faith in Him.

  • audio Living Authentically 6-3-07

    04/06/2007 Duración: 48min

On Sunday we looked at five reasons that the neXt generation may chose to walk away from the Christian faith: 1. Compulsory Christianity – following Christ is a duty not a passion. 2. Cliché Christianity – knowing the right answers, but never internalizing       them. No heart change. 3.Comfortable Christianity – believing that Jesus saves us from sin and for    eternity, but not pursuing a relationship with Him that impacts your life    today. Not enjoying an adventure, but managing your faith. 4.Cocoon Christianity – being so protected that you never get to see God     at work in and through you. 5.Compromised Christianity – lack of integrity cast seeds of doubt in      others. The Christian environment we’ve put in place to encourage our children toward a faith in Jesus could be the very thing that drives many of them away from God. Children are often driven away from a relationship with God by what we thought were the right things to do.

The Bible tells how Moses served the Lord, died, and was followed by Joshua who took over leadership and “the Israelites listened to him and did what the Lord had commanded Moses? (Deut. 33:5-9). God told Joshua He would be with him wherever he went (Josh. 1:5-9). But after Joshua and his generation died, “the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord? (Judges 2:8-11). Somehow the next generation didn’t have a faith relationship with the true God. This pattern showed itself again from David to Solomon to the next generation that turned their back on God. People very quickly forget who God is if they aren’t intentionally introduced to Him. Are you showing your children that a life lived for God is full of grace, peace, purpose, that it makes a difference here on earth, as well as for eternity? Do you trust in Jesus alone to cleanse you from your sins or do you do ‘good works’ to earn your acceptance into God’s kingdom? Is your relationship with God a priority that your family knows about?

  • video Love and Honor 5-13-07

    14/05/2007 Duración: 42min

This is the last lesson in the marriage series. We learned last week that men and women are made by the Creator to need respect and love. As we learn to apply Jesus' teaching to be other-centered in our marriages, we can move from the crazy cycle to the energizing cycle and ultimately to the rewarded cycle. Bob taught that the bottom line is that the wife is to give her husband the gift of respect and the husband is to give his wife the gift of love.

  • video His Greatest Need Her Greatest Need 5-6-07

    14/05/2007 Duración: 46min

This is the third lesson in the series on marriage. Do we justify self-centeredness or do we want to experience marriage the way God intended? Do we accept forgiveness from God but refuse to forgive others? Jesus teaches us to be other-centered, to risk living out our faith in Him within our relationships. The Bible teaches that we are "to present our bodies as living sacrifices" (Rom. 12:1) in all our day-to-day living. This weekâ??s concepts are based on the book Love & Respect, by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs.
