This week, the journey through every WWE PPV from WrestleMania in 1985 to Summerslam 2015 continues with this latest special edition of the Countdown.  Joining The Doc this week is another member of The Right Side of the Pond's distinguished team - it's Mazza!  The pair of long-time LOP personalities will be breaking down entries #90 through #81.  Most of Doc's guests have largely aired on the side of concurrence with the choices made, but that will change this week with Mazza's arrival (Doc was not the least bit surprised by this).  For an archived look at previous editions of the Countdown, click here.

It's 1991 in WCW and things are...strange. Ole Anderson is on the way out and Dusty Rhodes has dropped the polka-dotted gimmick to take the book in WCW. WCW is also expanding...gimmick-wise. El Gigante has arrived, as has Big Josh. Johnny B. Badd and the Diamond Studd are on the way in. Ric Flair, of all people, is soon to be on his way out. But Wrestle War is not about the world title. On WCW: The Legacy Series, mizfan and mystic have argued that Sting's first world title reign began to suffer seconds after he won the belt from Flair. Sting walked up the ramp and praised Ric Flair (the heel who had tried to end his career). When the fans protested, he rebuked them. From there, Ole Anderson (who had the book), began an angle between Sting and the Black Scorpion (a masked man who did low-budget magic tricks and kidnapped fans). Did Sting's first title reign ever have a chance? Who knows. What we do know is that by Starrcade '90, the handwriting was on the wall. Reports are Sting knew the belt was going to be taken from him, but he requested that he at least defeat the Black Scorpion first. It's Starrcade '90. It's the end of black magic. This week, The Doc breaks down John Cena's injury and what it means for WrestleMania 32, exploring the possible replacement options and how the card could take shape.  Also, the Royal Rumble Match will see Roman Reigns defend the WWE Championship and Doc feels that it was a necessary step to helping create the epic Rumble match that we've lacked this decade.  The pieces of the puzzle are in place; WWE just needs to deliver.  And what better time for delivering than with the biggest Mania of all-time on the horizon?
