Our study of James builds on this idea, teaching that the tongue cannot be tamed, even though it is like the rudder of a ship that can steer us and "makes great boasts" that we must try to live up to. It's easy for us to blame others with our words - to use our words as weapons to defeat the enemies we've created in our minds. But James challenges us to do things differently

As we finish the second half of Ephesians focusing on the HOW now we are really gearing up for life, literally, with the armor of God. Really this is the gear we have been “gearing up for life” throughout all of Ephesians. So, what are these tools and how do we employ them in our daily lives?

In our Ephesians 5 text alone, in these six verses, we find five essentials to guide us in our life of grateful response to the Lord’s love and salvation and how to live that out as Christians in the world. What are those five essentials?

Ephesians 4 is the beginning of what appears to be a powerful sermon on living as a Christian in a difficult, even hostile world. And all of this begins with encouragement that leads to unity in different ways. And what is that unity that Paul wants for us?

Paul includes a prayer for the believers to understand the Grace coming to us in Ephesians chapter 1 and again today as he wraps up chapter 3. He is praying for us to experience God’s grace—And how do we do that?....
