"Deconstruction" is a hot topic right now in the Christian world. Many would say that they are on a journey to "deconstruct" their faith, questioning whether or not they believe the things they've been taught. We believe this is a healthy and helpful process as long as it has a proper starting point: the resurrection of Jesus. A confident belief in Jesus’ resurrection makes deconstruction healthier because it gives you the comfort to explore with the assurance of salvation. You can poke, prod, question, and criticize knowing you're safe in the deep acceptance of the Father when you believe Jesus is risen. With the resurrection as your starting point, you will set out to "deconstruct" with the humility to trust Jesus over self. Join us for week five of our series, From Death to Life.

In a year full of suffering and despair, the empty tomb is a reminder that following Jesus doesn’t promise a life free from suffering or pain. It promises something better. Following the living Jesus promises us a way to overcome inevitable suffering because we place our trust in a living hope. Your past (no matter how broken or messy) and your future (no matter how uncertain) can be made whole by the living hope and presence of Jesus. The Christian worldview suggests a different route. "If you want to find yourself, look outside of yourself to your Designer and his Design before you look within." This small shift changes everything. It doesn't degrade the value of self-discovery. It illuminates, shapes, and directs it. This message discusses what it means to bear "the Image of God".
