Reboot Already Underway

This week Aaron and Jacob talk about the first film of the modern superhero era: Blade. Also, it is the first film that Aaron and Jacob disagree on.

This week Jacob comes to the table with concern for the X-Men cinematic universe, and David and Aaron try to calm him down. Also, they've seen Gross Pointe Blank, and 2 of them are pretty excited about it.

This week Aaron and Jacob take a look at Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. When mutually assured destruction is more possible now than it should be, let's take the time to laugh at how stupid it all is.

This week the group dives back into the world of movies based on true stories. They talk newspapers, football teams, and...the apocalypse? No, that's not right. However, they do talk about the Bye Bye Man, which Aaron and Jacob have deemed one of the best/worst movies in years.

This week Aaron and Jacob discuss one of the most classic comedies of all time: Blazing Saddles. They also find out that this format doesn't lend itself particularly well to comedies, but they both love the film nonetheless.

This week the group hashed it out over what the greatest movie trilogy of all time is, and then there's talk of The Little Mermaid. Also, they discuss their excitement over The Fate of the Furious.

This week Jacob and Aaron dive down the Alfred Hitchcock well again only to find his 1960 classic, Psycho. There are laughs, there are tears, there are murder shower scenes, so basically all the trappings of a good film...I think. I don't know, listen to them talk about it I guess.

This week Aaron and Jacob discuss those main characters they just can't support and Aaron introduces one of the newest hashtags for the show in the Bad Movie segment.

This week Aaron and Jacob discuss the Hitchcock classic, Rear Window. A film that never had a 2007 rip-off film starring Shia Labeouf...yeah, never...

This week the group discusses the film soundtracks that they have on repeat. Also, Aaron faces his Roger Rabbit fear, David loves Guardians of the Galaxy, and Jacob is way too happy.

This week Aaron and Jacob talk about the heart-wrenching 2012 coming of age film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower. They are also joined by David in his first appearance on the Reboot Already Underway spin-off. Also, we've recently added new theme music to Gateway to Cinema. This week the group discusses the things from film that kept them up at night, from moments that shouldn't have been scary, to glimpses of horror films that made them afraid of driving on the highway. And much to Aaron and David's chagrin, Jacob uses it as a forum to discuss his deepest childhood fear.

On the first official episode of Gateway to Cinema (previously Films Jacob Should Watch) Aaron and Jacob cover the 1976 classic, All the President's Men, and they find that, yes, it's way too relevant.

It's with great excitement that we bring the pilot for the newest show in the Reboot Already Underway family. While the name may not stick (we're not good at naming things) the central idea remains. A year or so ago, Aaron created a list of films that Jacob should watch and now they're going through each one of them one by one (sometimes with David as well if he's seen them) to discuss all the spoilery bits that they contain. This is by no means a replacement for the weekly blockbuster that is Reboot Already Underway, but instead an appetizer for you. Aaron himself calls it the fried pickles of podcasts...yeah, it doesn't make much sense. So sit back, relax, and allow Aaron to take you on a journey with his hosting debut.

This week the group breaks down the recent trend of classic television shows becoming movies while also discussing which they think could work in the model. Also included, the guys talk about Mulholland Drive, Kong: Skull Island, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

This week the gang figures out who won the first ever Reboot Already Underway Oscars bracket, and the results will shock you...but probably not. Also, Jacob and David are hyped for Logan, and Aaron introduces us to the podcast's newest segment.

During the final Best Picture Recap for the 2016 Academy Awards, Aaron and Jacob tackle Hacksaw Ridge, which they both agree could have been cut from Best Picture.

A day before the big event, Aaron and Jacob come together to talk about one of their favorite films of 2016 and laugh way more than they ever should concerning the subject matter. Sure, they sound psychotic, but I'm sure they have some good points...right?

This week the guys tackle the second part of a fan favorite topic, and they only get slightly less off topic than usual. Also, Jacob was tricked into watching Lawrence of Arabia, Aaron's obsession with the Bye-Bye Man invades more segments of the show, and David gives us a blooper that plays after the closing music.
