Meaning. So, the meaning of life is to give life meaning. At least this is the view of Adam Byars, partner of Grid Worldwide, a South African design agency that has blazed a trail to the world stage and to international acclaim. Grid are responsible for the largest and well known branding and design projects and have worked with brands like MTN, ABSA, FNB, Michelin, Qatar Tourism, Liberty, RMB, KFC, Louvre Abu Dhabi, and many, many others. Grid believes that the world doesn’t need another brand, but instead the world needs brands that mean something. Scale. If you’re not scaling and you want to, you need to examine the four legs of the table: people, strategy, execution and cash. I’ve just returned from London Tech Week and scaling up in international markets like the UK is a key focus area for technology startups, investors and the Department of International Trade. 1.8 billion pounds was invested into UK tech startups in 2018 alone so if you’re a tech startup with a global vision there has never been a more exciting time to push go on an expansion strategy for your business. Artificial Intelligence. Education. The schooling system was built for an age where once you leave school you go and get a job. This was great 50 years ago but today the system is not built for a world that is driven by exponential technologies like AI, blockchain, robotics and quantum computing. For the large majority you are being schooled for irrelevance. Mckinsey Global Institute study found the nearly 1 billion jobs (that’s 1/5th of the worlds workforce) will be taken by robotics process automation (RPA) and artificial intelligence (AI) by 2030. If the youth want to be financially independent, then an entirely different mindset is required, and that entrepreneurship is the best vehicle for making that happen. The only challenge is that entrepreneurship rarely if ever taught at schools. This is why I founded the Dreamers Dojo powered by Digital Kungfu to provide structured learning interventions at schools in South Africa and around the world. Support the show

Forgiveness.
