She excelled in high school at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, Maryland and signed to play her college basketball at the University of Connecticut where she helped her team to the Final Four in 2021. After being grated a waiver of immediate eligibility by the NCAA, McLean transferred to Virginia and played in 11 games in 2021-22. In 2022-23, she ranked third in the ACC with 9.6 rebounds per game and was named to the All-ACC Academic Team. Her season ended in January against NC State when she suffered a knee injury. He played his college hockey at Minnesota State University and signed an entry level agreement with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He made his NHL debut on January 20, 2019 and scored his first goal a few days later. Blueger played four years with the Penguins from 2019-2023 before being traded to Las Vegas in March of 2023, where he would become a member of the 2023 Stanley Cup champion Golden Knights club. In July of 2023, he signed a one-year contract with Vancouver.
