In this episode- complete with 'musical' introduction- I discuss the William Friedkin film 'The Boys in the Band', based on the play of the same name. This is a film about a group of queer men gathering to celebrate a birthday in a New York flat in the late sixties, specifically a year before the Stonewall riots.

Toga! Toga! Toga- 2000! Continuing our coverage of director John Landis' filmography, Kieran and I discuss 'National Lampoon's Animal House'. But does this beloved comedy classic hold up in the #MeToo era? Along the way we compare this to The Young Ones (also, bizarrely, 'A Birth of a Nation'), we bring up the brilliant British sitcom 'Nathan Barley', food fights, 'power shandies' and we touch on (amongst other things) 'Porky's', 'Revenge of the Nerds', Kevin Smith's 'Mallrats' and 'Road Trip' (starring Tom Green- remember him?). We also talk about a band named Blubber, that you almost certainly haven't heard of....

This week Kieran and I discuss 'Five Easy Pieces' a quintessential 1970s character drama starring Jack Nicholson.

In this short solo episode I look at director John Landis' first two films 'Schlock' and 'Kentucky Fried Movie' (which contains the 30 minute martial arts spoof entitled 'A Fistful of Yen'). Expect talk of 'See You Next Wednesday' as well as the seeds of future work from Landis which can be seen here in his early works.

In this episode Kieran and I discuss cult British horror film 'Death Line' (AKA 'Raw Meat'). A film about cannibals who live in the London Underground tunnels and terrorise people in and around Russell Square tube station.

In this episode I wrap up my 1970s Martin Scorsese coverage with some thoughts on his films 'New York, New York', 'The Last Waltz' and 'American Boy: A Profile of Steven Prince'. Expect mentions of 'La La Land', 'This Is Spinal Tap' and 'Pulp Fiction', three films heavily influenced by today's batch of Scorsese's.

In this episode Campbell and I wrap up our 1970s James Bond coverage with a fun discussion on 'Live and Let Die' starring Roger Moore. Along the way we discuss New Orleans, the world's most boring boat chase, the grim reality of Konaga's death and David Blaine in a box.

In this episode I discuss the classic Roman Polanski noir film 'Chinatown' with Empire Magazine writer Nick de Semlyen, who is also the author of forthcoming book 'Wild and Crazy Guys', an Easy Rider Raging Bulls-esque book about 80's American comedians such as Steve Martin, Martin Short and Eddie Murphy.

Returning to Middle Earth after our epic coverage of the Jackson trilogy on my sister podcast, the SpielbergPod (still available), Paul, Kieran and I discuss Ralph Bakshi's 'The Lord of the Rings', which is an animated take on 'The Fellowship of The Ring' and 'The Two Towers'.
