In this episode- recorded in mid-April 2023 (this week!)- Jev and I discuss the iconic music video for Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' from director Russell Mulcahy.

Recorded somewhen in winter 2022 (it must've been days after the first Indiana Jones 5 trailer dropped), this episode sees Paul and I discuss animated film 'When the Wind Blows', based on the book of the same name from Raymond 'The Snowman' Briggs. It's a cheery little film about nuclear Armageddon.

In this episode Kieran, Paul and I break into the world of music videos with a discussion of the iconic semi-animated video for the a-ha song 'Take On Me'. (Oh, just in case it isn't clear we are talking about the film 'Avatar' at the very opening of the episode, with Paul asking me about the sequel. Also, 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' is a British music quiz show, in case this reference is lost on you).

This week I have delved into the archives of my original podcast= the SpielbergPod- with two discussions from 2015 on Don Bluth films. The first was a solo chat on 'An American Tail' (I believe this was my very first attempt at a solo recording) and the second- recorded on New Year's Eve that year- sees Kieran and I discuss 'The Land Before Time'. Two hugely moving animated classics.

In this episode Paul, Kieran and I talk about the 80's Tom Cruise classic 'Top Gun' (from director Tony Scott). We also talk quite a bit about the recent sequel 'Top Gun: Maverick' (and the Hot Shots films) and Paul's love of volleyball.

In this episode- recorded live and in person on Boxing Day (December 26th) 2022 with my sister Amanda- we discuss beloved British sitcom Only Fools and Horses, specifically the episode 'Yuppy Love' which is a key episode for the show, not least because it contains the iconic moment where Del Boy falls through the bar.

It's more TV talk this week as Kieran, Paul and I discuss 'The Queen of Spain's Beard', which is the fourth episode of British sitcom The Black Adder (from Richard Curtis and Rowan Atkinson) as a way to discuss that first series as a whole. (Oh, just to be clear- as I don't think we mention him by name- we're talking about Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in the opening)

In this episode- recorded back in late autumn 2022- I was delighted to be joined by Al Horner, host of the fantastic screenwriting podcast Script Apart, to discuss Stanley Kubrick's horror classic- based on the book of the same name by Stephen King- 'The Shining'.
