Cinematographer Dariusz Wolski has worked with great directors such as Gore Verbinski, Tim Burton, Tony and Ridley Scott throughout his career. His first collaboration with Paul Greengrass for "News Of The World" has brought about a tremendous amount of praise. As of today, he's been nominated for the Critics Choice, BAFTA and ASC Awards for Best Cinematography. Dariusz has never received an Oscar nomination in his nearly thirty-year career but he may be on the verge of achieving that with this film. "Saint Maud" may have had a bumpy theatrical roll out due to the COVID-19 pandemic but the reviews have been heavenly for debut filmmaker Rose Glass and the film's lead actress, Morfydd Clark. Clark is currently up for a BAFTA Rising Star Award and it's easy to see why after watching her haunting performance in this disturbing film. She was kind enough to spend some time talking with us about working with Rose, her experience making the film, the film's religious themes, what it was like to get inside the head of such a troubled character and more. Thomas Vinterberg's "Another Round" was just recently nominated for a Golden Globe and Critics Choice Award for Best Foreign Language Film. And now, as of today, it is a BAFTA Nominee for Best Best Foreign Language Film, Best Actor for Mads Mikkelsen and Best Director and Best Original Screenplay for Vinterberg. Academy Award-winning costume designer Alexandra Byrne has been responsible for some of the best period costumes we have ever seen. Her work ranges from Kenneth Branagh's "Hamlet" in 1996 to her Oscar-winning work in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age" in 2007 and now, she has given us the outfits of Autumn de Wilde's directorial debut, "Emma." Many expected the HBO Films documentary, "Welcome To Chechnya," to be shortlisted for this year's Oscars in the Best Documentary Feature category. However, what many didn't expect, is that it would simultaneously be shortlisted for Best Visual Effects. The film has resonated with many since its world premiere at last year's Sundance Film Festival due to its powerful story of activism, defiance and perseverance in the face of a corrupt and brutal regime. "Promising Young Woman" has been nominated for four Golden Globe Awards including Best Picture, a SAG Award for Best Actress for Carey Mulligan and six Critics Choice Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress & Best Original Screenplay. One of the reasons why the film has been herald as one of the best of the year is due to the highly detailed and well thought out crafts. The Next Best Picture team took turns partaking in interviews with various members from the crew over the past few weeks and we are happy to have them all here together for your enjoyment. "The United States vs. Billie Holiday" just recently premiered on Hulu and won its star Andra Day a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama.
