This found footage style film doesn't star any major rappers, but it definitely stands squarely in "rap movie" territory, following stick up man Curtis Snow as he steals and fights to get by in an Atlanta neighborhood known as "The Bluff"

April Fools style, we watched CHESS: The Musical...for reasons.

We finally watched the 2003 classic I ACCIDENTALLY DOMED YOUR SON starring Kurupt. No film has made it more clear how broken we are by this whole rap movie exercise. Or maybe we're just better for it. It's got a script! Good sound! Good jokes! Kurupt is in it! We loved it, so of course Ant had to dig up some unreleased Kurupt to celebrate.

REST IN POWER TINY 'ZEUS' LISTER. We rushed an episode to pay homage to a fallen demigod. The president of the damn galaxy.

It's Spooky Season, so we had to do our internet-mandated "horror" episode. So we dug up QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, a horror "musical"(?) featuring songs by Jonathan Davis of Korn and starring none other than Aaliyah. We REALLY try and talk about Aaliyah, but we also talk a lot about Korn's surprising crossovers into the rap world. We do find time to play some FIRE Aaliyah songs though. Anyway enjoy this very spooky episode.

After getting ROASTED on University of Dope for not having seen 1995's DEAD PRESIDENTS, we finally watched this classic Vietnam epic, starring Sticky Fingaz, Heather B, Larenz Tate, Bokeem Woodbine, Michael Imperioli, Chris Tucker, Keith David, Clifton Powell, Terrence Howard, and many more.Directed by the Hughes Brothers, this was the follow up to their smash MENACE II SOCIETY. This episode gives Ant time to fire off his usual spiciness about the Vietnam War, and we get to discuss tracks by Pharoahe Monch and R.A. Its a dark look at his incredible (and incredibly self destructive) creative process at a time when there was literally no one better on the mic. We finally did it! Nate from the Kings of Sport podcast came through to watch the Outkast musical, IDLEWILD starring Big Boi, Andre 3000, Terrence Howard, Macy Gray and more. We all have strong opinions about Outkast, so we get into our feelings pretty quick on this one. We struggle, but ultimately find a lot to love in this messy masterpiece. We also talk about Da Art of Storytellin' Part 4, and a B.O.B. song with a great Andre verse. It's a long episode, so if you just want to hear us talk about music, that starts at 1:05.

For a few short weeks, ESPN's The Last Dance was the best piece of basketball content on the planet. Well here's the second best. We watched 1993's MTV Rock and Jock Basketball. The third annual, which overlaps tidily with The Last Dance. Its got Dan Majerle, Rick Mahorn, Ed Lover, Bill Bellamy, Dan Cortez, Tag Team performing at half time, Jon Stewart in the booth, and most importantly it has Kay Gee from Naughty By Nature on The Violators. Kay Gee is an incredibly underrated producer, and after we get through all the insane basketball and 90's pop culture conversation, we look at some lesser-known tracks that he produced.The audio is of "remote" quality but its very listenable. I know we loved doing it and there will definitely be more Rocks and Jocks in our future.
