On this episode, we share our first thoughts after the Artemis 2 crew has been selected! x3 NASA Astronauts and x1 Canadian Space Agency Astronaut. These four individuals will orbit the moon with the Orion Spacecraft and test all the human rated systems and prepare for Artemis 3 where the first person of color and first woman will step foot on the Moon. On this episode, Alex discusses Relativity Space and their 3D printed rocket Terran 1 which took to the pad twice, went through both 3 hour windows for launch, and scrubbed both times. BUT still have a rocket to try and launch again on March 22 10PM EDT. While scrubs hurt us emotionally, they are part of having a safe rocket industry - and we were very impressed with what we say out of Relativity Space and Terran 1. On this episode, Alex shares his thoughts in the wake of the Crew 6 mission where NASA will send two NASA Astronauts, a UAE Astronaut, and Russian Cosmonaut to the International Space Station onboard SpaceX's Crew Dragon vehicle. Human spaceflight has a history tied to defense and war, from the base technology of rockets (V2 Rocket), and the Space Race to the moon between the US and Soviet Russia, and the eventual Apollo-Soyuz docking in the middle of the Cold-War. Here’s what we’re talking about this week: In our last episode we reviewed the NASA Artemis 1 mission leading up to its first lunar flyby as it was on its way to enter DRO, a highly fuel efficient orbit around the moon. This episode we review Orions time at the moon in DRO, including the start of its trip back to earth using the moon as a slingshot on its second and final flyby of the moon. We’ll review Flight days 10-20, including the 5 days in Distant Retrograde Orbit.
