99: Giving: What Part of You Does it Come From? The Shadow Side and Self-Honesty: Part 3 of Cleanse Your Ideas of Taking, Receiving, and Giving
25/11/2019 Duración: 53minIn this episode, I draw on lessons from the Horses on giving and taking and from the founder of Family Constellations, Bert Hellinger’s ideas on how we stay innocent when we give and feel guilty when we take. His statement that has brought icy feeling of truth to me at times, “It is better for you to feel obligated to me than for me to feel obligated to you,” is a great place to explore what our relationship to giving and taking is.Where horses take the carrot I give them, I sometimes begrudgingly see my own needs and desires: for the horse to give back to me, love me, kiss me or give me attention… But also the simple lesson of being in complete action and alignment by delighting in the giving.I invite you to notice on subtle levels why you give, from which place are you giving, and who is doing the giving? It takes grit to be honest and have weight in yourself by recognizing what you might silently or secretly expect from others when you give while finding a place for the pure act of giving. Also, I touch on

98: Taking vs. Receiving — Part 2 — Deepen Your Capacity to Receive… Cleanse Your Ideas of Taking, Receiving, and Giving
18/11/2019 Duración: 59minWith this episode, let’s cleanse our personal permission to receive and explore how receiving can relate and be blocked by feelings of betrayal within our ancestry and the collective, saying NO, expectations and attachments, our body’s visceral reactions to receiving and belief sets.A self-exploration on:What is receiving and what does it require us to feel and do?Receiving is all connected to our body’s visceral reactionsOur belief sets (and where they come from) that block us from deepening receiving what we desireWhat do you feel allowed, worthy of, and able to receive? Love, sensuality, abundance, money, compliments, touch…Plus a sharing about a recent experience with a ghost that I now would rather call a spirit or ancestor and my experiences with Molly Shanahan/Mad Shak Dance Company recently around movements born from trauma. This conversation is Part 2 of 3 on the investigation and self-inquiry around taking, receiving, and giving. Last week, I explored the developmental need and assertive tool of taki

97: Taking vs. Receiving — Part 1 — Permission to Take… Cleanse Your Ideas of Taking, Receiving, and Giving
11/11/2019 Duración: 45minThis conversation offers an investigation and self-inquiry around taking, receiving, and giving. We often overvalue giving and stigmatize taking — that taking is selfish, impolite, or that we shouldn’t… we certainly shouldn’t take too much. And we often moralize that it is better to receive than to take. Does that limit us in our fullness? We need to be able to take. It is an assertive action we can play with and use when we need it. Taking space, taking your own time, taking up space, taking what we need, and ultimately taking our place. My teacher, Suzi Tucker, says that it is first “take, then give.” Taking comes before giving. In this episode, I discuss our developmental need to take, what beliefs may interfere with our ability to assert and take what we need or desire, taking too much and its relationship with scarcity, and the wounds and messages we may have received and internalized that make it hard for us to take and receive. This is part one of the series: Cleanse Your Ideas of Taking Receiving, and Gi
