    Welcome to the first EtherMMC Podcast where Rodrigo and Ryan delve deeper into the historical context in which Mark was written. During the 60s A.D. early Christians were being persecuted in the most gruesome manner and although we might not directly relate to their lifestyle or level of commitment we do need to ask ourselves: How easily do I shrink or how strongly do I believe and how far am I willing to carry my faith? Mark had to write in the most compelling way to help these persecuted people keep the faith and look forward to heaven. However, even to this day Christians are being persecuted. According to Open Doors' report 1/12 Christians are being persecuted worldwide and we need to pray for them and make sure we are doing what we can to help them. Early Christians thought that Jesus would come back in their lifetime, so they were fervently advancing the Kingdom of God here on earth. Today we have a false sense of security and we are not looking forward to the coming of Jesus. How do we jolt back? If
