We have to be careful when we come to the cross of Jesus to not just view it and two seconds later push it aside as if it was a trite event. It must command our utter attention. It must captivate us not just this morning, but every single day. For everyday we lay it aside and treat it as a humdrum event, an unexceptional/ordinary incident not worth our meditation or time, we wander from what it is that makes us so different. We wander from the life-giving source that changes us from the inside out. We wander from what propels us to be salt and light to this world. This is part one of a two week look at the cross and the effects that cross has on the life of a believer. I.  Jesus SUFFERED so that we might be FREE II.  Jesus was MOCKED so that we might be LOVED.

This Sunday we were blessed to have Kaley Harper minister to us from God's Word.  We're tremendously blessed to have Kaley as part of the LOFT City Church family.  A little bit about her.... A native Texan, Kaley grew up on barbeque, queso, and Blue Bell. Since the 10th grade, Kaley knew she wanted to spend her life teaching women how to know God and study His Word. Kaley went to Texas A&M University and spent her spare time teaching women the Bible, discipling, and leading teams overseas. Before Kaley moved into full-time ministry she wanted training, this led her to Dallas Theological Seminary. After years in youth ministry, Kaley went on a trip with Children's Relief International to South East Asia where she trained local pastors' wives. Falling in love with women she joined CRI as the  Women’s Ministry & Recruiting Manager to help bring training to women locally and abroad.

In this sermon, Pastor Sam is looking at John 18:33-19:16 and in the process we begin to answer some important questions... So how do we use our God-given power, influence and gifts to serve rather  than be served? How do we see the gospel go out and effect change in people’s souls and in people’s lives so that generations are changed for Christ?

In this sermon, Pastor Sam is looking at John 18:12-32 as we see Jesus stand before Annas, Caiaphas and Pilate.  And as we walk through Jesus' trial we will notice threads of injustice that takes place, who comes to the defense of Jesus and a dramatic turn of events in the life of an individual.

In this sermon, Pastor Sam is looking at John 18:1-11.  The sun is setting on Jesus’ earthly life, the hour he prayed about has arrived, His death is an imminent reality! But as we look at the arrest of Jesus we will learn more about who Jesus is because here we find some of the sweetest, most fascinating and alarming realities of Jesus in all the gospel of John!

In this sermon, Pastor Sam is looking at John 17 and we discover a prayer that Jesus makes for His disciples and for us.  And through that prayer we discover marching orders that Jesus gives His followers as they live on mission.
