Court TV Morning Radio Vinnie Politan interviewed Mark Henkel - Mar 2006
08/05/2019 Duración: 15minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was on Court TV Morning Radio with Vinnie Politan, on satellite Sirius 110, on March 21, 2006. After the cable TV network, HBO, debuted the premiere of its historic fictional series, called "Big Love" (on March 12, 2006), the host wanted to learn more about polygamy and whether or not the show accurately reflected polygamous families' experiences. (Prior to this TV show, no network had ever aired any series that presented polygamy in any positive non-criminal example. That is why it was so history-making.) The host unwittingly mistook that Mark Henkel was speaking with the show "really early" as if his guest was from Utah, not realizing that Mark Henkel was in Maine, in the same time zone as the show. Mark Henkel was allowed to clarify that UCAP (Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy) has nothing do with crimes, criminals, and cults, to differentiate the different forms (Mormon polygamy, Christian polygamy, secular polygamy, etc.

MacLeans (Canada) Ken McQueen interviewed Mark Henkel - June 2007
01/05/2019 Duración: 33minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Ken McQueen for MacLeans magazine in Canada on June 11, 2007. Describing his magazine as the "Newsweek for Canada," this interview ocurred in reference to the ongoing reports of investigations into a group of Mormon polygamists living in Bountiful in British Columbia, Canada, who had originated but had broken away from the FLDS cult in the US. The positive reporter was more interested in learning about polygamy in general and about whether Canada's anti-polygamy laws could really withstand a legal chellenge. Explaining the different forms of UCAP, Unrelated Consrnting Adult Polygamy, Mark Henkel gave the soundbite, "In the modern era, no polygamist has been convicted, or even charged, where there was no other crime involved." http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

The Ed Tyll Show (Syndicated) interviewed Mark Henkel -1- June 2013
24/04/2019 Duración: 18minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was on The Ed Tyll Show, syndicated on the Starcom Radio Network, on June 13, 2013. This was the first of two interviews on this show that week, as the US Supreme Court was gearing up to make its decision about same sex marriage in both cases of Hollingsworth v. Perry and United States v. Windsor. Mark Henkel explained how, if the Supreme Court accepts and sets the precedent that laws may not be based on "animous based stereotypes" as were then being argued in the Hollingsworth case, it would equally apply to anti-polygamy laws which are even more "animous based" than laws against same sex marriage. (HISTORY NOTE: Later, on June 26, 2013, the US Supreme Court instead refused the Hollingsworth case, vacating the lower decision, solely based on a technicality of "legal standing" and not based on the merits of anything argued.) http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nationalpolygamyadv

Jamie Floyd Best Defense CourtTV interviewed Mark Henkel -1- Sept 2007
10/04/2019 Duración: 08minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was on "Jamie Floyd: Best Defense" on the television network, Court TV, on September 20, 2007. Host Jami Floyd is a former defense attorney who had been a legal consultant for various television networks, aside from her own program. This interview was the first of a number of times that Mark Henkel was brought on this TV program as the expert during the trial of FLDS criminal cult leader Warren Jeffs. Mark Henkel was able to adamantly differentiate normal healthy UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, as not being connected to the criminal Warren Jeffs or those crimes whatsoever. The host was very professional, friendly, understood every argumentation, and was happy to bring Mark Henkel back on more future episodes during the trial as well. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

San Diego Union-Tribune Dana Littlefield interviewed Mark Henkel - Dec 2006
03/04/2019 Duración: 44minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Dana Littlefield, for the San Diego Union-Tribune, on December 08, 2006. This interview was in preparation for an article she was writing that would be published on January 15, 2007. As she had reported over the previous year about the trial of a horrific murderer named Sean Goff who had self-claimed to be a Christian in polygamy, but who was not Mormon, she sought to learn more about the issues and differences. She was educated on the history of the modern Christian Polygamy movement, how the "Standard of Christian Polygamy is "Love-Not-Force," the TruthBearer.org organization, and how that criminal self-proved to never be a valid part of the actual movement (as anyone can claim to "be Christian" even when they are not). http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

Talk of the Town WATR Larry Rifkin interviewed Mark Henkel - Mar 2014
27/03/2019 Duración: 17minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was the guest on Talk of the Town, on WATR, 1320-AM, in Waterbury, Connecticut, on March 12, 2014. This interview was in advance of the television network TLC set to broadcast its second reality-TV series about polygamy, called, "My Fives Wives." Also, the Brown v. Buhman ("Sister Wives") case had, at that point, just received a victory in a Utah court that positively de-criminalized "de facto polygamy" in December 2013. (Unfortunately, that decision was later reversed on appeal in 2016 by a technicality. The US Supreme Court declined to consider that reversal in 2017.) This was a positive interview addressing many good questions, explaining the different forms of UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, and the Polygamy Rights Win-Win Solution to end the marriage debate. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

20/03/2019 Duración: 28minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by National Reporter, Cheryl Wetzstein, for The Washington Times, on November 22, 2005, as the second of 2 interviews with him for an article that would be published on the front page of the Sunday edition, December 11, 2005, of this known politically conservative newspaper. As before in his first interview with her, Mark Henkel intentionally used those same commonplaces & rhetorical arguments to persuade that target audience. In this second interview, this reporter was doing the followups for clarification from the first interview as well as from 2 additional interviews they conducted together with 2 separate families from the TruthBearer.org Organization (with Mark Henkel mediating). While those 2 family-interviews will remain private, the first interview with Mark Henkel was posted in last week's episode of this podcast. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/

The Washington Post John Pomfret interviewed Mark Henkel - Nov 2006
06/03/2019 Duración: 17minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by staff writer, John Pomfret, for The Washington Post, on November 2, 2006, for an article that would be published on November 21, 2006. This was following breaking news that the caught criminal cult leader of the FLDS Warren Jeffs, who had been apprehended a couple months previously, was scheduled to appear in court for his crimes. It was evident that the reporter had neither done his homework nor was even looking to discuss the differentiation of how the National Polygamy Rights Movement for Unrelated Consenting Adults is and has always been adamantly against Warren Jeffs and the FLDS cult. Nevertheless, the staff writer was given an extensive education about the modern movement for UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy (including the additional differentations of Mormon Polygamy, Christian Polygamy, Secular Polygamy, et al) and how the Polygamy Rights Win-Win Solution to end the marriage debate only seeks de-criminalizati

The Bill Cunningham Show 700 WLW interviewed Mark Henkel - Jan 2016
27/02/2019 Duración: 17minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was the guest on The Bill Cunningham Show, on 700 WLW, in Cinncinatti, Ohio, on January 22, 2016. This weekday radio talk show, hosted by a lawyer of 40 years, served a mostly conservative audience. The host also hosted a separate nationally syndicated Sunday radio show as well as a TV talk show on the CW television network. This interview occurred as the Brown v. Buhman (the "Sister Wives") case was being heard that week at the Tenth District Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, Colorado. Differentiating that polygamy is about marriage and requires commitment, Mark Henkel said, "In America, sex is easy to find and get. You don't have to get married to have sex." While still seeking to be entertaining, the host asked many questions, got many answers, and ended up concluding positively that he could not see how a law could stop people in their 40s and 50s from choosing UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. http://www.Nationa

America Now Radio with Andy Dean (Simon Conway) interviewed Mark Henkel - (Syndicated) - Dec 2013
20/02/2019 Duración: 17minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was the guest on nationally syndicated America Now Radio with Andy Dean, with Simon Conway filling in, on December 26, 2013. This came after the District Court in Utah had effectively de-criminalized "de facto polygamy" in a favorable decision in the Brown v. Buhman ("Sister Wives") case, before that case was later REVERSED in 2016. Also, TLC television network had announced that a second reality-TV show would be pending in the following March, 2014, called "My 5 Wives." This radio show was a politically conservative program with a consverative audience. The fill-in host became hostile when his repeated gaslighting attempts in trying to set a rhetorical trap consistently failed. Mark Henkel saw through the trap and consistently answered appropriately, standing in using the show's audience's own limited government commonplace language. The host, revealing his own dishonesty, kept pretending, "I don't know why you don't want to answer"

The Jayne Carroll Show KUIK interviewed Mark Henkel - Apr 2016
13/02/2019 Duración: 18minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was the guest on The Jayne Carroll Show, on AM-1360 KUIK, in Washington County, Oregon, on April 18, 2016. This came after the news that the US Federal Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in Denver, Colorado, had (unfortunately) REVERSED the Brown v. Buhman ("Sister Wives") case as MOOT, one week earlier on April 11, 2016. Mark Henkel explained how & why the way by which the prosecutors in the case had cleverly caused the case to be mooted should terrify everyone across America, regardless of their views of polygamy. Many important sub-topics were able to be discussed in this positive interview: the history of the modern Christian Polygamy movement, the "Polygamy Rights Win-Win Solution" to end the marriage debate, the "10 Men & 10 Women" analogy of free marriage market economics, how & why the Left's "Marriage Equality" and the Right's "Marriage Protection" are both just Marriage Control, and more. Saying that these were "well pr

This came after the news that a federal court in Utah had effectively de-criminalized "de facto polygamy" in Utah. In the end, the host proclaimed, "Interesting conversation" and "I thank you for educating us." http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

The Tom Barnard Show interviewed Mark Henkel - Jan 2016
30/01/2019 Duración: 16minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was the guest on The Tom Barnard Show, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on January 27, 2016, the week after the Brown v. Buhman ("Sister Wives") case was appealed at that US 10th Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver, Colorado. This natually-humorous host found himself surprised at how serious and interesting the topic was. The many questions and the overall discussion comprehensively covered a lot of topical ground in so short a period of time. The host also laughed out loud more than once at some of the humorous responses that Mark Henkel gave back too. Besides the other co-hosts, Tom Barnard's wife was also a co-host on the show. Following Mark Henkel's "Seed & Garden Comparison" that explains the choices, biology, and anthropology of why we tend to see more examples of families choosing polygyny more than polyandry, the co-host wife respectfully concluded, "You do a great sales job on this whole thing." In the end, the host concluded,

The Mancow Show (Syndicated) interviewed Mark Henkel - Mar 2006
23/01/2019 Duración: 13minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on The Mancow Show, the nationally syndicated show hosted by Erich "Mancow" Muller of Q-101 WKQX in Chicago, Illinois, on March 15, 2006. Days before, the never-done-before premiere of a new polygamy-topic TV series on HBO called, "Big Love," aired. This recording begins with the pre-interview to reveal the difference from how the show was described versus the sophomoric silliness that occurred on the actual show. At one point, Mancow went off into the silliness of shouting "How many wives?" 17 times in a row. Later, one of the side co-hosts proclaimed the hilarious (in its context) line, "I'm not an individual, I'm black!" and then proceeded to interrupt the rest of the interview. The host, Mancow himself, however, said, "I want to talk to the guy." Nevertheless, Mark Henkel's arguments were successfully persuasive. The other silliness notwithstanding, Mancow did say, "I like the idea," and he concluded the interview

The Mike Schikman Show WSVA interviewed Mark Henkel - Aug 2017
16/01/2019 Duración: 12minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was the guest on The Mike Schikman Show, on WSVA NewsRadio 550-AM & 92.1-FM, in Harrisonburg, Virginia, on August 18, 2017 to discuss UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, on the news of the then-breaking Gallup poll. On July 28, 2017, Gallup reported a poll that found a surprising increase in the number of Americans who found polygamy to be "morally acceptable." At 17% in 2017, this number was up 3 percentage points from the year before in 2016, and it was up 10 percentage points from the decade before in 2007. Not only that, but these poll results occurred despite the fact that the US Supreme Court had declined (in the previous January, 2017) to even hear the appeal of the Brown v. Buhman ("Sister Wives") case, which had unfortunately been reversed (by nothing more than a "legal standing" technicality). http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nationalpolygamyadvocate/suppo

National Geographic Television interviewed Mark Henkel - Jul 2003
09/01/2019 Duración: 01h23minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed for National Geographic Television, by Associate Producer Dana Kemp, on July 24, 2003, researching for developing an episode for a second season of one of their programs. One month after the Supreme Court's Lawrence v. Texas decision of June 26, 2003, this 83-minute interview was one of the groundbreaking & history-making interviews that paved the way for eventual TV shows about polygamy in a positive presentation. (Indeed, 15 years ago, this interview was even available on tape for $19.95 - but it is now fully free here!) The woman producer even said that the positive standard of "love-not-force" was what made her go "Bingo!" in realizing that Christian Polygamy and UCAP (Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy) are really positive choices for the women who choose it. In an era when TV producers would only show polygamists as abusive criminals, this comprehensively educational interview was an essential key that opened the door for the foll

Good Morning Show KFAB interviewed Mark Henkel - Apr 2016
02/01/2019 Duración: 07minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was the guest on Good Morning Show, hosted by Gary Sadlemyer, on KFAB NewsRadio 1110, in Omaha, Nebraska, on April 20, 2016. This interview occurred after the Brown v. Buhman ("Sister Wives") case was REVERSED on April 11, 2016, by the US 10th Circuit of Appeals in Denver, Colorado, not based on the merits of any argument, but only by a technicality that mooted the legal standing of the family to file the case. The host shared how he thought that the arguments of the Polygamy Rights Win-Win Solution sounded libertarian to him. He asked positive and legitimate questions, eventually even admitting to Mark Henkel, saying, "Well, you lay it out really well, Mark." Asking how the movement goes forward from this REVERSAL, Mark Henkel explained how the OMOWs (One Man One Woman supporters) now only have three remaining options to choose. 1, die and give up forever. 2, accept this WIN-WIN solution to abolish all marriage control so that there is no legalized m

Journal Tribune Liz Gotthelf interviewed Mark Henkel - Dec 2006
26/12/2018 Duración: 01h19minNational Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Liz Gotthelf, reporter for the Journal Tribune, in Biddeford, Maine, on December 21, 2006, for an article published on January 6, 2007, titled, "Multiple Marriage - Old Orchard Beach polygamist Mark Henkel speaks to benefits of more than one wife." (During the opening 7 minutes of pre-interview phonecall on December 19, 2006, the "8 beeps" merely block out a non-public telephone number.) Consistently using the rhetorical commonplace terms of evangelical Christians, sharing this hour-plus long interview can be used as one of the most powerful tools to successfully persuade other evangelical Christians of both the conservative arguments of limited government and of the Christian morality arguments of Biblicality and being pro-woman. This discussion teaches of the Reformation, presuppositions, the Biblical issues of Law & Grace under Old & New Covenants, numerous Scripture citations, Mark Henkel's own history in the
