    Drew and CJ linked up in Salt Lake City for a rifle course taught by Drew and afterwords they sat down to talk about some of the current topics and much more. This episode covers everything from the future of 2011s specifically STI, putting your all into your craft, separating from the military, and what can be done to help protect gun rights.  Drew is truly an elite instructor who goes above and beyond to ensure the large investment is worth his student's time. There is no shortage of firearms instructors these days, and many of them are more than qualified, but Drew puts on a course that will be much different than any other available course.     In the world of practical shooting, particularity USPSA the highest level one can achieve is Grand Master, and there are very few that have earned the title. In this episode CJ sits down with Charlie Perez to talk everything practical shooting and more.  Charlie earned his Grand Master(GM) just 18 months after shooting his first match.  Now he is passing on his years of knowledge and teaching others how to be successful.  He hosts courses so anyone can come and learn, but there is one element you find in Charlie's course you probably won't find anywhere else.  Charlie is the author of a book titled The Path Of Focused Effort, and the book goes along with the class, so students can reference it both before and long after the class.     This episode of Empty Brass deviates from the normal format, CJ and Seth sat down after a long day to discuss gun control. With recent tragedies, the 2nd amendment is under attack from the media, and government representatives from both sides like never before. The next election cycle will be crucial if gun owners wish to maintain the freedom to own the firearms they cherish, and the ability to purchase them going forward.  Seth digs into the conversation at hand, and how to effectively sway those we may come into contact with, and not everything he says will get you to pump your fist.  In this world we must play the game to win, not to insult.  When we encounter friends,  family, or even strangers the way a gun supporter speaks and acts could potentially persuade the person to supporting gun rights or drive them away.  If we wish to maintain these rights and liberties we hold so dear, it should be the goal of every gun owner to go out and change the perception, and Seth gives some compelling points on how to

    Following Ohio Range Day 2019 host CJ Boxrud sits down with Paul Bellito aka blackirongunner to talk about many topics in the shooting industry as well as being an everyday guy, and working with what you got. Paul has grown from a weekend warrior to a large social media following over the last couple years and rightfully so.  Paul does not work in the gun industry so equipment and time at the range comes at his own personal expense.     In this emotional episode host CJ Boxrud talks with Nick Nunes a former Marine, and current Law Enforcement officer.  The guys talk about some of the hardships that come from the day to day grind while being a peace officer.  They also go over a recent OIS Nick was involved in, and some of the lessons learned.  One of the lessons was the idea of using a red dot system on a duty gun.  Nick was the first in his department to be authorized to use an RMR on duty, since then 2 more have chosen to do the same.  Nick and CJ are good friends and connected by most of the topics, and a mission to help other officers.     Recently a blizzard came through Colorado and Wyoming, many citizens were stranded on the side of the road the National Guard was activated to help rescue helpless motorists. Host CJ Boxrud discusses being prepared, and the lack of preparedness within the United States along with how it relates to conceal carry.  Using concepts from Mike Glover from fieldcraft and the slogan "No one is coming to save you" from Runenation, CJ expands on relying on yourself to get through situations that are unlikely, but frequent through history.  Being prepared goes further than storing physical items, having a mindset and discussing plans can make an impactful difference in the outcome of survival.
