Hannah Nihill was one of the best players in Drexel University women's basketball history. A Cardinal O'Hara product, Nihill played in a Colonial Athletic Association record 153 games over her career and she is one of just two players in Drexel history to record career totals of more than 1,000 points, 500 assists and 300 steals. Currently, she serves as Drexel's Coordinator of Strategic and Player Development - a role she has filled since the summer of 2023. Jay Accorsi spent 22 seasons as the head football coach at Division III Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey before in the spring of 2024. Brian Voelker spent 15 years as the head men’s lacrosse coach at Drexel University before retiring in the summer of 2024. He led the Dragons to a pair of Colonial Athletic Association titles and he is the second winningest coach in program history. He previously spent seven seasons as the head coach at the University of Pennsylvania. As a player, Voelker was a star at Johns Hopkins and played for the US National Team and for the original Philadelphia Wings. Brian Fili has been the head baseball coach at Strath Haven High School in Wallingford, Delaware County for a quarter century. On his watch, the Panthers have spent years as one of the area’s top programs – in 2023, Strath Haven finished just a win away from a state title. In 2024, Fili was inducted into the Delco Athletes Hall of Fame. Prior to coaching, Fili was a star baseball player at Upper Darby High School and Villanova. Melissa Finley has been the head softball coach at Division III Swarthmore College since 2017. Since taking over she has won about two-thirds of her game as head coach, leading the Garnet to a 2023 Centennial Conference title and appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Lauren Stackhouse was named the new head women’s basketball coach at Division III Delaware Valley University over the summer. She was a star player for the Aggies and will be taking over for her college head coach, Laura Hogan, who retired. Dick DeLaney spent 21 years as the head men’s basketball coach at Division II West Chester University before retiring in 2008. He won 370 games at the helm of the Golden Rams and made such an impact on the school that later this month the basketball court at West Chester will be named in honor of him and former women’s basketball coach, Deirdre Kane.
