The University of Pennsylvania football team is looking to fight for an Ivy League title in 2023. Penn went 8-2 in 2022 and finished tied for second in the Ancient 8 with a 5-2 league mark. Penn will open its 2023 season on Saturday, September 16th on the road against Colgate. Matt Leon spoke with Penn head coach Ray Priore to preview the 2023 Quakers.

The Division II West Chester University football team is looking to build off a very good 7-4 2022 season (4-3 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East). The Golden Rams will open their 2023 campaign on Saturday, September 2nd, with a trip to Waltham, Massachusetts to play Bentley. Matt Leon caught up with West Chester head coach Bill Zwaan to get his thoughts on his squad.

The Delaware Valley University Aggies are truly one of the elite Division III college football programs in the country. In 2022, the Aggies went 12-1, advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals. DelVal will open this season on the road on Saturday, September 2nd, visiting SUNY Cortland for a noon kickoff. Matt Leon spoke with DelVal head coach Duke Greco to get some insight into his 2023 squad.

The Villanova University football team went 6-5 a season ago (4-4 in the CAA) and the Wildcats will be looking to build on that in 2023 with an experienced roster. Villanova will open the season on Saturday, September 2nd, on the road against Lehigh. Temple is coming off a 3-9 2022 season (1-7 in the American Athletic Conference), but the Owls are looking to make big strides here in 2023. Temple's offense will be led by sophomore quarterback E.J. Warner who had a tremendous campaign as a freshman. The Owls will open the campaign on Saturday September 2nd, at home at the Linc against Akron. Matt Leon caught up with second-year head coach Stan Drayton to find out what the Owls will be all about this season.

The 2023 season will be the first at the varsity level for Division III Eastern University in St. Davids, PA. So the Eagles will make program history when they play their first game on Saturday, September 2nd on the road against The College of New Jersey. Matt Leon caught up with Eastern head coach Billy Crocker to talk about the challenge of building a program from scratch and get a feel for what the Eagles will be all about.

The Division III Ursinus College football team is coming off an outstanding 9-2 2022 season (7-2 in the Centennial Conference). The Bears finished the campaign on a six-game winning streak – including a win over King’s College in the Centennial-MAC Bowl Series. Matt Leon caught up with Ursinus head coach Peter Gallagher to find out what is in store in for the Bears in 2023.

The Division III Rowan University football team is coming off a fine 7-3 2022 campaign (4-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference) and the Profs have a lot of talent coming back here in 2023. Rowan opens its season on Thursday night, August 31st at home against Stevenson. Matt Leon caught up with Rowan head coach Jay Accorsi to get some insight into what his squad will bring to the table this year.

The Division III Widener University football team is coming off an uncharacteristic down year in 2022. The Pride went 3-7 a season ago (2-6 in the Middle Atlantic Conference) and they will be looking to turn things around here in 2023. The Pride open the campaign at home on Saturday September 2nd against Lycoming. Matt Leon spoke with Widener head coach Mike Barainyak to get some insight into what his team's potential is this season.

The Division II Lincoln University football team is coming off a 2-7 2022 campaign (1-6 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association). The Lions have a new head coach in Frank Turner, who moved up after serving as defensive coordinator and associate head coach last season. Lincoln will open its 2023 campaign at home on Thursday night, August 31st with a 7:00 pm kickoff against Clarion. Matt Leon spoke with Turner about what he expects from his group this season.

Fran O’Hanlon recently took over as the head boys’ basketball coach at Cardinal O’Hara High School. He returns to the sidelines after wrapping up a 27-year run as the head coach at Lafayette College in 2022. O’Hanlon has an extensive Philadelphia basketball resume, which includes a standout career playing at Villanova. Jim Watson spent his entire decade in the NHL manning the blue line for the Philadelphia Flyers. He helped the Orange and Black win the Stanley Cup in both 1974 & 1975. Kyle Davis is the first head coach in the history of Division II Holy Family University baseball. He has been tasked with beginning the program from scratch.
