He is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and has served the southside community for over 40 years in social-service, first as a caseworker working with delinquent/truant youth in 5 southside school districts, as a Paralegal, a special education teacher in the Harlandale and Southside school districts, an arts advocate, and a conjunto musician (plays bajo sexto).
