Mark joined the Marine Corps in 1982 and served in Aviation Supply in Okinawa and MCAS New River. He moved up through the ranks in the HVAC field. Mark currently works for the University of Arizona as an assistant facilities director. Mark's son served in

Tim Lawson Served in the Marine Corps from 2006 to 2011, his MOS was Aviation Supply, however he spent most of his career on Marine Security Guard duty.  Tim transitioned out of the Corps into college and several odd jobs that could not hold his attention.  Finally discovering his passion, Tim began podcasting.   

John Lee Dumas served in the US Army, achieving the rank of Captain. He spent time in the financial services world, and the commercial real estate business.  John even gave law school a shot.  Finally realizing that he'd rather call his own shots, John dove head first in the entrepreneurship.  John is now a wildly successful online entrepreneur, podcaster, coach and mentor. Brian Burger served in the Marine Corps from 1993 to 1998 as an 0311 Infantryman and as a Scout Sniper team leader. After his service, Brian attended Clemson University, earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Brian has a long list of skills and talents, including the ability to run a nuclear submarine! He is co-owner of Fathom 4 LLC, specializing in tactical vehicle design and integration.  

Mike is a former Captain in the US Army, serving 8 years as a Ranger.  Mike is the owner of Azule Staffing in the Minneapolis, MN area.  His firm  is an industry leader in veteran services and placement.  They don't just talk the talk, they perform for our veterans every day.

Dr. Julia Dye is the Vice President and CFO of Warriors, Inc., a consulting firm that helps Hollywood capture the realities of warfare in all aspects of media. Julia is an Author, Speaker and Publisher. Her Recent book is called  "Backbone: History, Traditions and Leadership Lessons of Marine Corps NCOs". With he military adviser team, she oversaw the historical accuracy of the hit HBO series "The Pacific". Mrs. Dye holds a Doctorate in Hopology, the anthropoloty of human conflict.  Her Business background includes venue producing at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City, UT.

Phiip Devine, served In the Marine Corps from 2006 - 2010 as an 0311 Infantry Rifleman. He is currently working as an Asset Protection Manager, he is a Licensed Minister, a speaker and motivator. Philip has a GREAT podcast called the Live Life Better Podcast.

Bob Wheeler has served for over 20 years in the United States Navy. Most of his time in service has been spent hip to hip with the Marine Corps. Bob spent time as a Corpsman and as a trainer. He is currently working as a Navy recruiter in the medical field. Bob is a prolific networker and writes a GREAT blog called Veteran Transition Diary, where he shares his transition experience as well as a whole host of other valuable information that will surely benefit any service member looking at transition.

Van Shumake served in the Marine Corps for 8 years, from 1994 to 2004 as an 0341 Mortarman, he is currently working in the aerospace industry and is in working on his graphic design passion.

Richard Rierson served in the Marine Corps from 1991-2001, achieving the rank of Major. He is a professional pilot, a John C Maxwell certified coach and speaker. Richard hosts two very successful podcasts, Dose of Leadership Podcast and Courageous Leadership Podcast. He also authored a great eBool called "Calm, Confident, Consistent and Courageous... A Common Sense Leadership Guide"

Stephen Michael White served in the Marines from 1996 to 2003 as an 0341 Morterman. Steven has a great transition story including landing a position which he was not qualified for... because of his confidence and bearing as a Marine. Steven is the CEO and founder at Fidelis Screening Solutions LLC in Buffalo, NY. He operates several businesses, probably best known is RentPrep. Steven is a prolific net-worker and welcomes all comers... especially other Marines!

Colonel Sam Nelson retired from the Marine Corps in July 2013, after serving his country for 25 years. Sam was a helicopter pilot and a Marine Leader. Sam in currently in the middle of his transition to a career in the civilian marketplace. Listen in to gain wisdom from this great leader as he talks about his journey through transition.

John Millstead has been there and done that!  He served in the Marine Corps and in the Navy.  John is a police officer in Texas and a start-up entrepreneur.  John has been married for 25 years and is the father of 2 teens.

Claire Christison is the Director of Recruitment and Human Resources for One Way Building Services in Eden Prairie, MN.  She is also an advocate for Marines.  Claire has worked with recruits entering the Marine Corps and with Marines transitioning into the civilian workforce for the past 24 years.  Claire brings a valuable perspective to the podcast through her knowledge and understanding of the recruitment and hiring process and from her perapective as a Marine advocate.  

Bruce Johnson Honorably served his country in the Marine Corps from 1988-1996 as a 2311 Ammo Tech. Bruce participated in Desert Storm. As a civilian leader he currently serves as The Vice President of Managed Services at NACR, a large national communications solutions provider. Bruce oversees a staff of about 120 dedicated professionals and is responsible for about $65 million in annual revenue. Bruce lives in the Atlanta, GA area.

Introduction - The two fold purpose of this podcast: 1) To help Marines prepare as they transition off of active duty by helping them translate their unique, world-class leadership skills and abilities into something that the civilian market can easily understand and embrace. We will do this thru conversations with Marines who have successfully made the transition into the civilian marketplace. We will talk to Marines in leadership positions and to Marines who have become business owners. 2) To help HR professionals, hiring managers and business owners who have leadership positions to fill... REALLY understand the value of Marine Corps leadership training... and exactly what a Marine leader will bring to the table for their organization.
