Wrestling with God is a question of learning how to pray. Anyone can 'pray', especially in a crisis. But it takes a real person of faith to get an answer. We must learn to prevail in prayer until the answer comes. In Genesis 32 the Bible days that Jacob wrestled with God all night; at dawn, God turned to Jacob and said, "As a prince you have power with God and with man, and have prevailed!" We're living in the last days, the days of the return of Christ, the days when we are going to see revival fire bursting upon the Church, poured on the Church, until the Church is going to be living and vibrant and working and believing and moving into spiritual victory - all in the preparation of the glorious return of Jesus. Those days are going to culminate with the sound like a trumpet, and that sound is going to echo from every building, and that trumpet will herald the return of Christ and suddenly in a blaze of Glory sweeping across the sky from the East to the West, Christ is going to take control, bind Satan, cast Him into a prison for 1000 years ... I'm prophesying what the prophets have been prophesying for 2000 years. I believe that this last great revival will begin amongst the Russian speaking peoples, sweep across Europe, and upon this revival, Christ will return, just as Hudson Taylor prophesied in 1889. Rejoice! Christ is risen, just as He said. Jesus has conquered the last enemy, and that enemy is death. Death has lost its sting, its pain. When Christ rose from the dead He demonstrated there is life after death. Jesus was the first to come to new life, and because He lives, we can live also. To us, Easter is not death but resurrection. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is essential if we are to be effective in our Christian witness. When I was a child, I prayed 3 months without receiving the Spirit. But I knew that without the power, the fire, the anointing of God, I could never see men's lives converted. At Easter we used to have three Pentecostal Conventions in London. I determined to go and not leave until I had received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit! The preaching was so long in the morning, there was no time to pray for people to receive the Holy Spirit! As a 13-year old I went up to those great men of God on the platform and said, "I only came to receive the fire, pray for me!" They took me to a small room, laid their hands on me, but their minds were on their lunch! I did not receive the Holy Spirit.  I was searching for something which does not come from men, the real power of God. We need to relearn what the Baptism in the Holy Spirit actually is. My father, (a great man of God, converted in 1905 during the Welsh Revival, a great Bible teacher), taught me when I preached as a boy of 13 and no one repented, that Jesus said, "When the Holy Spirit is come, HE will convict the world of sin and righteousness and of judgment to come!" He said, "Son, you haven't received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit yet!" It was a lesson which changed my life, because what I needed was the fire and the power of the Holy Spirit to bring conviction, conversion and a changed life when I preach! I asked my father to lay hands on me. He did, but I didn't receive the Holy Spirit. As a result, I spent the next three months in an agony, 13 years old, crying out to God, fasting and praying that God would give me FIRE and POWER through the Holy Spirit. When finally, I received the Holy Ghost just days before my 14th birthday, it totally revoluntionised my life. From that moment God took control, things began to happe

We need to prevail in prayer until God answers. In Numbers 14:20 God says to Moses, "I have pardoned, according to YOUR word". Moses 'made it happen'! Do you see what the intercessor has done? Moses as the intercessor has challenged God so that instead of turning His back on His people because of their weakness, because of their sin, because of their failure to evangelise and their failure to win the world, God says, "Because of the intercessor I will renew My Covenant, I will renew My Power, I will renew My Glory. I want your faith in God to be unshakable; I want you to be confident in your relationship with Him. Jesus told us to call God 'our Father'; we are sons and daughters of God. I have written in my office, 'Think God, think big!' How big is God? How powerful is God? My God has the greatest power in heaven, earth and the whole of creation. There is nothing He cannot do! For my God there is no miracle too big, no question too hard, nothing is impossible. The Bible says that the things which are impossible with man are possible for God. If only you could understand the love God has for the sinner. The Bible says God places more priority on reaching the one lost soul, than the ninety nine who are safe. Our circumstances can be changed; the Word of God cannot fail! When Jesus speaks, the miracle will happen! Jesus has power and authority in your life, power to set you free, power to heal you of every sickness, power to resurrect dead circumstances. Only believe, and the miracle will happen. There is power in the Name of Jesus to heal you from every sickness and disease. There is no miracle too great or too small. His power is without limit. When you call upon His Name you will be saved, healed and restored. There is power in the Name of Jesus to set you free: His Name is above every name, and at His Name every knee shall bow. It is not too late to receive your miracle. Your circumstances are not too far gone. Jesus has power to heal and resurrect. When Jairus found Jesus, he thought he just needed a healing miracle, but what Jesus had in mind was something far greater, He was going to resurrect Jairus's daughter.  'When I am weak You make me strong. Jesus offers you a glorious future. Whoever you are, if you will call on Jesus, He will answer your prayer. He will deliver you. He will heal your sickness. Jesus will take away your hurt and pain. The Lord is like a Father to His children, tender and compassionate. He is mindful of us, watching our every step. God has promised to take care of you 'as a father cares for his children'. The Bible even says that God knows every sparrow which falls to the ground, and even the hairs on your head are numbered - that is how close His relationship with you is! God wants us to come to Him for help. He will hear the faintest cry. Just as a mother learns how to recognise the different cries of her baby before it can even speak: she knows when it is hungry, tired, needs a nappy change, or just needs comfort, so God recognises the need you express by your every cry for help! If you are sick and need a healing touch from Jesus, I want to pray with you. I am not a healer: I can't heal anybody. Jesus is the healer. Believe in Him, trust Jesus, and you will be healed. Jesus is alive, He loves you, He wants to heal you. The Bible says, 'whosoever will call on the Name of the Lord will be saved'. Whosoever will call on the Name of the Lord will be saved. Wherever you are, whoever you are, whatever your condition, this Jesus, who we celebrate at Christmas, He is the One, He is Messiah. Jesus is the Son of God, He is alive. And He has power to work miracles in your life today. Jesus will forgive every sin, but first, we must repent. What is repentance? They came to Jesus and asked Him the question 'are You the One we are searching for?' Jesus turned to them and said, 'Tell John what you have seen: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the Good News is proclaimed to the poor.' - That is your answer. John the Baptist was searching for the Messiah; he was always talking about this Man who would redeem the world. I believe that John was searching in the same way that many of you are searching. He wanted to know the truth. He wanted to know reality. John had heard about Jesus, so he sent his disciples to ask, 'Are You the Messiah, the One who will redeem the world?' John's doubt might have arisen from his own circumstances. Like John, I too have been in prison, left feeling abandoned and forsaken, but through it all, there was a hunger deep in my heart for Jesus, to know the reality of His power. '...having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise' (Ephesians 1:13) When we begin to trust in Jesus Christ we become sealed with the Holy Spirit. But what does this mean? The Holy Spirit is the guarantee that we belong to God and that He will do all He has promised. The Holy Spirit is like a legal seal which validates the signature on a contract. His power works in us to transform us so that we can receive all of the blessing of Heaven now. So many people have this dream of a rich uncle somewhere leaving them an inheritance. But I want to talk about reality not dreams. The Bible describes what God wants to give us as like an inheritance, and it comes only one way. Just like any inheritance we receive from our parents, the inheritance we receive from God comes when somebody died. There are many reasons why Jesus died upon a cross, but what I want you to understand today is the inheritance you received upon His death: love, joy, peace, forgiveness, redemption, healing, and so much more besides. - These are your inheritance!
