WCW: The Legacy Series - The Grand Finale, Part 1

On this week's show Mazza and Plan take a look at their favourite wrestlers on the current roster.  They start out on SmackDown Live with Daniel Bryan.  They break down his transition back into the ring, how the feud with Big Cass has gone, what defeat to Rusev meant and where his short term future lies.  They breakdown the big matches he can have on the brand, is a WWE title reign likely in the future and of course speculate on the eventual feud with The Miz.  They then switch over to Raw and the current Intercontinental Champion.  They discuss how Seth Rollins is on fire right now.  They look at the IC open challenge and potential suitors.  They speculate how the injured Jason Jordan and Dean Ambrose may play a big part in Seth's 2018.  They also look at the possibility of Rollins being the guy to take the Universal Championship from Brock Lesnar.

This week, The Doc - inspired by the stellar matches of late from 205 Live's Buddy Murphy - offers his opinion of the best and worst kept secrets from both Raw and Smackdown Live.  The worst kept from Raw certainly will come as little surprise to anyone, but he'd be willing to bet that his take on the blue brand's worst kept may open a few eyes.  Doc also shares his thoughts on the recent controversy drummed up by diehard enthusiasts in regards to Rusev defeating Daniel Bryan clean on Smackdown last week; he sees it as just another example of a major long-term problem that WWE has had for years.

This week, The Doc reflects on a Backlash event that certainly left a lot to be desired for a few key reasons, mainly the main-event, off-setting what had otherwise been a decent show.  Joe vs. Reigns was basically the anti-thesis of the fantastic opener between The Miz and Seth Rollins.  It was another pay-per-view that left Doc feeling guardedly pessimistic about the product, confident that the roster has the talent necessary to ramp up WWE's momentum, but lacking confidence in WWE itself to allow the talent to blossom, honestly to the point of feeling rather meh about the coming months for the overall product as we round into the infant stages of Summerslam Season 2018.  Doc sets the stage in this podcast for what could be a very important next month for a fanbase on the ropes, struggling with WWE fatigue.

It's finally here. After tonight we can finally begin the Superstar ShakeUp in earnest, as all the mixed-brand matches will have been resolved on Backlash, the first of this new era of co-branded PPV events. We've got a fairly loaded card, with Championships galore on the line alongside those who fight for pride and to bounce back after a difficult WrestleMania season. This event, moreso than even WrestleMania, may give us an indication as to where the two brands are headed for the remainder of 2018.
