This week we'll look at the 6th Heart Attitude, "Support the work financially." Supporting the work financially doesn't start with a conversation about money. In fact, that would be the worst place to begin. Instead, we'll talk about stewardship and how God has blessed us and given us purpose in Christ Jesus. Serving in ministry is a lot of work with very little reward. Well, at least that's how the saying goes. But what if we've got it wrong? What if working together in the body of Christ actually increases our joy and lessens our burdens? Does correction in your life sting? Or does it encourage you? Well, it depends on how it's done, right?! This week we'll look at our third heart attitude: Give and receive Scriptural correction. The book of James challenges us to live out our faith practically in life, but to what end? Join us as we explore the outcomes of faith in life and how we can grow in practically turning our eyes to God in our everyday lives.

Conflict, large and small, can seem like part of the fabric of everyday life. This Sunday we will look at the source and the solution to conflict as we continue in our study of the book of James.

We use our tongues to bless God and curse those made in His image. As followers of Jesus, we know we need to work on this. James hits hard, but each blow is purposeful and well-timed. The letter aims to correct our misunderstanding about faith, leading us towards spiritual wholeness. The issue is that Christians are prone to talk a lot about faith, but often fall short of living it out in practical ways. The longest day, Jesus' crucifixion, gives way to the greatest day, the resurrection. Today we look at the evidence of a risen Savior; the empty tomb, an angelic announcement and many eyewitnesses. All of this evidence is incredible and compelling, but the gospel of Mark pushes us beyond the clues and towards a relationship with Jesus. Join us at 10:30 as we celebrate Easter and the greatest news of all, that by Jesus' death and resurrection we have life in His name!

On Sunday we look at the longest day, the crucifixion of Jesus. It starts with a night arrest and ends with Jesus giving up His spirit and dying. Often we skip over the details, preferring to rush forward to Easter. But, we need to consider the longest day, so that we can really understand and appreciate the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross. Today, we'll dive into a passage that shows the disciples' not-so-great track record. They're asked to stay awake and pray, but guess what? They keep nodding off! But here's the thing, Jesus stays faithful and trusts in God's plan, even when it's tough. And that's exactly what we need, right? Not to rely on our own strength or power to stay awake or to follow God, but on what Jesus does for us. So, let's come together and celebrate Jesus and learn practical ways to stay awake in our spiritual journey!

On Sunday we'll look at a misunderstanding about power and position. Jesus plainly tells the disciples what His mission entails, but they don't understand, instead opting for an argument about who will be first in the kingdom. We laugh at the timing of the disciples, but practically we do the same thing. We misunderstand Jesus' mission and posture and instead we put our own interests above others. Join us on Sunday as we find practical ways to follow Jesus, not through our own selfish effort, but by being a servant of all.

People have many different ideas about who they think Jesus is, but most of these ideas are based on only a partial understanding. Thankfully, Scripture provides the full revelation of everything Jesus truly is and shows us how that changes everything for us.

We find our place in the world as we grow into the people who can meet the moments that God creates in our lives to serve His purposes.

Ever since sin entered the world, man has been attempting to subvert God's commandments. It's just in our nature. Instead of following what God says, we find clever ways to create traditions that benefit us. What's at the root of all of this? Jesus tells us that it's a heart issue. This Sunday we'll look at two more stories from Jesus' ministry, the feeding of the 5,000 and Jesus walking on water. They seem to be disconnected stories, but Mark links them together by highlighting the continued need for faith. The issue is that it's easy to believe in Jesus while everything is going well, but difficult when it's not. Jesus exposes our hardened hearts and calls us to a deep faith that secures us even when we're terrified out of our minds. Join us on Sunday at 10:30am!
