  • Issue 52: Wii Were Right!

    18/08/2011 Duración: 50min

Oh, don't worry, that's not all this week's PB & Jason is about, but it does take up a substantial amount of airtime. With it is talk of the recently announced Europe-exclusive PSP model, the PSP E-1000, along with a little bit of analysis of what it means to drop the PSP's wifi capabilities. In the middle, there's a brief bit about actual video games! Did you know Kirby Returns to Dream Land will let all four players be Kirby now? I didn't until today, and now you do, too! Alongside this is a brief discussion of the upcoming 3DS Virtual Console games Metroid II: Return of Samus and Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. I talk about my recent experiences with Super Mario Land to wrap up this segment of the podcast. The issue wraps up detailing a nice article written by Blake Snow over at CNN. Listen to what I have to say about it, and check it out for yourself if you're interested.

  • Issue 51: This is a Deep Issue

    11/08/2011 Duración: 42min

This week's PB & Jason is very deep. It has a great atmosphere. You can tell it's not one of those big fancy-shmancy industry podcasts, because those have color. Oh, wait, I confused PB & Jason for a topic in Issue #51: Limbo. The video game, not the game that involves bending over and a stick that's taking the youth across the nation by storm. Also in this issue? Basic news review, including such deep, thought-provoking, rich topics, as a Red 3DS, Nintendo Selects, Rock Band 3, Maroon 5, and Mega Man. Just remember, this PB & Jason is great for air and space travel: There are layers upon layers of atmosphere inside.

  • Issue 50: PB & J

    04/08/2011 Duración: 39min

It's the 50th issue of PB & Jason! Celebrate the show's mega-normal issue by listening, TODAY! On the Jason-based podcast docket? Differences between Sony and Nintendo! Most specifically, the differences in their upcoming pieces of hardware, after Sony stated the Vita can function as a controller for the PS3. Also explained are the differences between Sony's "Welcome Back" program and Nintendo's recently announced Ambassador program. Actually, for Issue 50, not much else is discussed, though there is a little bit of talk about a few upcoming 3DS titles, namely StarFox 64 3D and Mario Kart 7. The podcast ends with a little bit of a mention of a game Chris is playing, Infamous 2, along with some commentary about both titles. Enjoy this week's picture, and note that there's two jars. That means there's two of them, just like the Ice Climbers. Hooray!

  • Issue 49: Featuring Mr. Destructoid

    28/07/2011 Duración: 46min

This week's issue of PB & Jason brings lots of news and lots of opinion! First up, there's some talk about GoldenEye: Reloaded, the upgraded port of the Wii game inspired by a N64 classic title, which was developed by Rare. Following that, there's my long-winded perspective on Nintendo's choice to localize Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 rather than it's upgraded version, Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Professional. The news opinion segment of PB & Jason concludes with a little bit of talk about StarFox 64 3D and the newest Namco 3DS title, Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions. In the second half of the podcast, I contrast Ms. 'Splosion Man and Bastion, and eventually move on to an unsettling reality: Ms. 'Splosion Man, a game Destructoid has given a 9.5 on a 10-point scale, features a cameo appearance by Destructoid's mascot, Mr. Destructoid. Tune in next week, same PB & Jason time, same PB & Jason place!

  • Issue 48: A Day Late and a Dollar Short

    20/07/2011 Duración: 01h06min

This week's PB & Jason has it all! Talk about Capcom, Mega Man, (outdated) Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3! Then, there's a preview of Atlus's forthcoming title, Catherine. The preview covers a lot of content in the demo, but it also covers a little bit I believe is outside of it. After that, I yield some thoughts about Ms. 'Splosion Man, as well as how I feel the media community misrepresents the game. From there, I hop to a few PB & Jason possibilities, general PixlBit rumblings, along with a little bit of other stuff. The issue concludes with a dramatic reading of Kathrine's latest Tour de 64.

  • Issue 47: Memory Lapse

    07/07/2011 Duración: 43min

...Or can I? Turns out I can. This week's PB & Jason circles the video game globe, with talk about the Xbox 360's memory issue, special edition silver controller, and a free game, Hexic. Also, hear some of my opinion on $10 online game passes and Sony's upcoming implementation of the idea. Naturally, PB & Jason isn't devoid of Nintendo talk, so I mention a little bit of an issue with the 3D Classics version of ExciteBike, while also noting that Skyward Sword is nearing development completion. Oh, I make a huge deal about something Pokemon related, too.

  • Issue 39: Select-ive Outrage

    05/05/2011 Duración: 40min

This week's PB & Jason consists of a bit of rage, really. Expect to hear disappointment in Nintendo's latest Wii console and software discounts, particularly sentiments resembling "Too little, too late." Additionally, some new news about PSN and SOE's collective hacking is discussed. Rumor has it, someone anonymous was behind at least one of the two networks' attacks. This issue concludes with two minor pieces of news, one relating to Zelda tradition and Skyward Sword, while the other is all about Harmonix and the music game industry. Next week: Aside from standard PB & Jason fare, I'll be looking back on Donkey Kong Country 3, playing it at some point between now and then. Feel free to join in and play the game too, because I definitely expect some listener mail!

  • Issue 38: PB And Nate?

    29/04/2011 Duración: 51min

This week Nate fills in for Jason. First matter of business is what is on the forefront of many gamers minds this week: identity theft due to the Sony network compromise. Tune in to hear a few tips on watching your back online to ensure you don't suffer a financial disaster. Moving on we look at Jason's article concerning a possible Wii redesign and how likely or unlikely the prospect could be and what could be altered about the system considering the company's past and their most recent system, 3DS. Lastly Nate launches a crusade against the dangerous 'Backlog' by forming a new 12-step recovery program for those affected: Backloggers Anonymous. He hits the ground running by getting some play time in for Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Mario.

  • Issue 37: Rumor Mongering

    21/04/2011 Duración: 41min

You've heard it here first, ladies and gentlemen: EAD is working on a game for Nintendo's Wii successor. Or will work on one at some point in time. Anonymous inside sources informed me it was true, scout's honor! A lot of this week's PB & Jason is full of stuff like that! From rumors of Sonic to rumors of the next Nintendo controller, with rumors of the latest Sony and Microsoft consoles in-between, I had a bit of fun recording this issue. Oh, the latter half is all about the Best Buy gaming retail changes that may be upcoming. Check out the newest post in the PB & Jason forum thread for a link to information about that story if you're interested in learning more. No anonymous sources were revealed in the making of this podcast.

  • Issue 36: Where in the World is George "GeoHot" Hotz?

    14/04/2011 Duración: 57min

I this podcast, I'm pretty much an equal-opportunity discriminator, as I bash Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, their peripherals, and their failures to rise and offer better productions in what should be a competitive market. Instead, we've got a Wii console with no games and terrible peripheral support, a PS3 that has weekly user agreement updates and no Move momentum, and an Xbox 360 that has pretty exorbitant online fees and ridiculous hard drive pricing. Oh, and there's also talk of some disappointment in how slowly developers and publishers react to new consoles, in this case their snail-speed is exhibited by the 3DS. News about a handful of things is at the beginning of the podcast, too. No N-Gages were harmed in the making of this podcast.

  • Issue 35: XenoJason

    07/04/2011 Duración: 39min

Sony vs. Anonymous, new interactive sections to Disney theme park rides, upcoming trailers on Sonic's FaceBook page, Nintendo RPGs, Dungeon Defenders, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker clothes round out all the other news on this week's PB & Jason. Send your listener mail to jasonrATpixlbitDOTcom, and tune in next week for another issue of PB & Jason!

  • Issue 34: It's Only About the 3DS!

    31/03/2011 Duración: 52min

In this week's issue of PB & Jason, I talk about the 3DS. That's it. My thoughts on the handheld's integrity, the games, augmented reality, and that's about it. Not that there's anything wrong with that. First I go over the build of the console, and mention a few things I'd improve. From there, we hit up the games featured in the 3DS's operating system, talking up Face Raiders, the Augmented Reality cards, and even Mii Plaza. I take the podcast down the long road of basically reviewing three of the system's launch titles: Super Monkey Ball 3D, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, and Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the 34th issue of PB & Jason. No Nintendogs were harmed in the making of this podcast Follow me on twitter!

  • Issue 33: It's Barely About the 3DS!

    24/03/2011 Duración: 11784h56min

Partially because I still haven't decided what 3DS launch titles I'll be playing and partially because there's other news out there, this issue of PB & Jason barely covers the 3DS at all! Don't worry, there's still a little bit of mention about 3DS deals and such. Other than that, I focus on a few things Sony related. Why do I think the NGP will be priced high? Several reasons all on the show. Why do other members of the gaming media think it'll be priced lower? No one knows... Additionally, there's talk of the Sony/Geohot court case, which is more or less amusing at this point. The last relevant topic, though all of these are out of order? Molyneux! Watch out for his deception!
