Oh the expectations of what it means to exist as women in 2019! The societal standards of beauty at every waking moment for a woman are simply ridiculous. From body shape, to where hair should and shouldn't be to the color of my skin. This week, model & actress, Alicia Daniella discuss her recent bout with armpit hair & Willow Smith and how life in spot light has changed her perspective on plastic surgery and colorism. 

This week's show starts with a 12am phone call from my mom about  a recent podcast. My mother, a 60 plus no nonsense women, from the south, felt compelled to share her feelings with me about the podcast on women aging. She specifically pointed out that there is a difference between black women aging and white women aging. And I got an earful. So this week you'll hear Momma King's version of nuisances and depth of women aging.

This week on Good Girl Radio, we're talking about that one thing every single person will face, no matter their beliefs, values, work ethic, or morals. It's what begin to experience as soon as we exit the womb. Aging. We sat down with Leah Thorn, the founder of Older Women Rock, a movement to to raise awareness and explore issues facing women in our late-50s and 60s shares to talk about the harsh realities women face as they begin to grow past the half a century mark.

Every week, we curate conversations about women's experiences and this week I wanted to be very intentional about the conversations I held especially during #WomensHistoryMonth. I believe the topic of women in hop hop magnifies what it means to be a woman.  I had the privilege of having a conversation with two women who are Hip Hop- Piper Carter & Mahogany Jones. Piper Carter is multi-disciplinarian multi-media activist an organizer. She is the founder of We Found Hip Hop and Creator of Dilla Youth Day. She is also the first black woman to shoot for hi-end publications such as French Vogue, British Elle.  Mahogany Jones is a lyricist, international music ambassador activist, 4 time undefeated champ on BET's 106 Park, and Detroit Ted Speaker.  

Cameo & Danielle are at it again! In their monthly Good Girl Radio Confession Session where they chat about all things ratchet, holy, & culture. This week we learned that everything is actually the woman's fault. Listen as the founder of Good Girl Radio and her girlfraand (and licensed therapist) unabashedly chat about trauma snobs, sexual urges & entitlement and how this is clearly all our fault.

Grammy nominated American gospel singer Kierra Sheard is on Good Girl Radio this week sharing one of her many confessions. In this transparent chat, Kierra is nothing short of honest as she shares her struggles with drawing boundaries with sex, time, and space with a man she is deeply in love with.  During the chat she unapologetically checks herself and asks crucial the questions "Does my life match what I'm singing about?"  and "Am I walking worthy of the calling?"

Imagine being forced to sit out on vacations, experiencing different cultures around the world, and even splurging on yourself for an entire because you don't have the money but rather mounds of debt. Not because you have closet full of clothes, not because you helped a family member in need or even previously splurge on an international trip but simply because you made a conscious decision to "help" the love of life, twice. This week's confession: "I financed not one but two boyfriends."

Leaders from all walks of life from our churches to our public offices to our most trusted mentor all have dirty laundry. There is something that they have done, been a part of, or will do that has been flat-footed wrong. So why, oh why, do we hold our leaders to an unattainable standard? Why do we expect them to get it right (from birth) or cast them to the pit of hell? This week we try to understand millennials obsession with the perfect leader while we are yet sinking deep in our own mess. 

Cameo: Every year, for the most part, I try my best. I try to work on my character, my relationships, and my career. This year, in particular, is a year of exponential growth. And with growth comes change. So in order to cultivate this exponential growth and change, I'm sharing the 3 of top things I will not tolerate year. 1) Being told what to do 2)Extra positive social media accounts 3) Self- assessing

This is why I am pissed because 1. this idea of expecting perfection (from black women) 2. one issue voting (There's so much more to any one person & their ability to govern an entire nation that can not be judged on one issue) 3. It hadn't even been 12 hours!

This conversation is about the utter disgusted and disdain we've witness for the lives black women which has been magnified after the air of the 3 part "Surviving R. Kelly" series. The series details testimony of the sex trafficking, rape, abuse of dozens of girls and women. Social media and private conversations have forced this week's conversation where we try to answer "why is so hard to believe the experience of a Black woman?" 

A seemingly simple bad attitude has had its place in most of our lives, whether it is the result of a bad day or tough season . But how often do we connect our occasional outburst with past trauma or unmet needs as child. This week's confession deals exactly with that. A woman born & raised in New York shares how bad attitude was not only connected with failed childhood expectations but also created a losing season for her. 

How on God's green earth did I reach 30-something years old without ever purchasing or using a condom? Well, I became serious about my walk with God in college, and committed, the best I could to this particular lifestyle. So at the maximum, the only people I would even begin thinking of any sexual activity would be serious long-term boyfriends, which are now, closer to 0 than 5. This is why we are here today:   My first time using condom.   It involves Kala, my new stylist, a project I'm working on, and well, God.   Listen up:

This is the second installment of Cameo's & Danielle's monthly chats where you can eavesdrop on their nothing short of amazing conversation !   This week we learn: 1. Just because someone loves does not mean they can handle you.  We all have people who love us to life, want the best for us AND they simply don't have the capacity to handle our life experiences and what challenges are in front of us. 2. Cameo's Mom plays no game. I don't even understand why this has to be stated as a point. It's like saying the sky is blue. 2. Pay Me What You Owe Me! - You adverse life experiences OWE you wisdom, knowledge, and credentials.

The pain of marrying the wrong person is worse than your fear of not getting married before a certain age. These are the words of 36 year old women who's now on her second marriage. In this candid confession she shares the raw truth of what it was like marrying the wrong person, the pain, the signs, and the reconciliation. 

I just hit my 35th year and for the first time ever, I woke up sad, very much in a ho-hum mood. This was extremely shocking to me as I have never experienced this, especially out of seemingly no where. But much to my dismay, there I was - in my feelings. Why?   1. These Got Dang Ole expectations!   2. I talk way too much (I guess this why I am in this profession! Ha!) 3.
