Many experts would not rank this among the top 5 inflection points of history. But they would be wrong. David lied; people died. The story told in 1 Samuel 21 and 22 is a story of treachery, tyranny, and desperation. We might judge that, under the circumstances, a little fib to save our skins would be OK. Better than OK - justified. Under the circumstances. The Disciples disbelieved, too - until they could no longer deny! It's a mistake to dismiss the four Gospels as ahistorical because their authors were biased. Yes, they were biased - they're quite open about that. But they were originally skeptical of Jesus' resurrection. There are a lot of religions in the world. How can we know we've picked the right one? Skeptics seem to think that all belief systems make roughly the same claims, and have roughly the same evidence to show for those claims - that is to say, none. But neither of those is true. Let's check our connections! "You do not believe, because you are not of My sheep."
