The Toronto Blue Jays lose another game, this one being to the Tampa Bay Rays 4-2. Vladimir Guerrero Jr stays hot with another home run, making it four home runs in 5 games. The only fun thing that came out of the first game of this series, was that there was back-to-back home runs from Vladdy and Justin Turner. We graded these players based on their expectations, meaning we expect more from players like Kevin Gausman who received Cy Young votes throughout his career. In contrast, we did not expect as much from a player like Yariel Rodriguez, as he had not thrown in the MLB until this season. It was a big weekend for Toronto Blue Jays baseball. The MLB draft took place on Sunday, July 14th as the Toronto Blue Jays selected two pitchers with their first and second round picks. Trey Yesavage, is a 20-year-old right-handed pitcher out of East Carolina. With their second pick, the Blue Jays selected 21-year-old right-handed pitcher Khal Stephen out of Mississippi State. The Toronto Blue Jays have won their second series in a row on this road trip, beating the San Francisco Giants 5-3 in the third game of the series. Kevin Gausman looked like prime Gausman in this game, eating up seven innings while only giving up 2 earned runs. He threw a ton of fastballs today, which seemed to keep Giants hitters off-balance. The Toronto Blue Jays bounced back, winning the second game of the series against the San Francisco Giants 10-6. Chris Bassitt struggled within the first two innings of his day, throwing over 60 pitches in two innings and struggling with command early on. The Toronto Blue Jays lost another game to the Houston Astros 9-2, and everything unraveled in the 6th inning of this ball game. It started with a horrible error by Zach Pop against the first batter of the inning, with a play where Pop simply missed a ball that was rolling at a snail's pace, unable to get the throw-off to first.
