The Blue Jays had the lead going into the 8th inning before a Tyler O’Niell home run and a Ceddanne Rafaela single put the Red Sox up 4-3. Chris Bassitt continues to have consistent starts, going six innings and only giving up two runs but continues to be let down by the Blue Jays' bullpen and offense. In more positive news, Ernie Clement continues to have a hot bat, driving in two runners after a double into the left-center gap in the second inning. Orelvis Martinez was also called up yesterday, getting the chance to start in the absence of Bo Bichette, having a right calf injury. The Toronto Blue Jays get a massive series win against the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend. At the start of the weekend, we were feeling a lot different about this team than we are right now. The Buffalo Boys had a monster weekend, accounting for ten of the Blue Jays twenty-one hits, with Ernie Clement and Addison Barger leading the charge. The Toronto Blue Jays win the second game of the series against the Milwaukee Brewers 3-0. As yesterday was one of the most typical Blue Jays losses, this was a typical Blue Jays win, with stellar starting pitching and a mediocre offense that produces just enough to get by with a win. Yusei Kikuchi struggled with command at times in this start, working into some jams but working out of them just as fast. A huge positive from this game was the bullpen, pitching four scoreless innings to keep the Milwaukee Brewers off the board. This bullpen performance was led by Nate Pearson who struck out the side while allowing a hit, and Yimi Garcia who came in and was very effective in his four-out save. The Toronto Blue Jays walk off the Baltimore Orioles in the third game of the series 3-2. This was a huge win for the Blue Jays, as they now have a chance to split the series. Justin Turner hit a huge milestone today, getting his 1500th hit today, adding another accolade to a stellar career. He went 3-4 today, with a double and the single that would turn into the game-winning run. IKF continues to impress from the plate, gathering two hits, as well as two RBI and of course, the game-winning hit to put the Blue Jays on top. Jose Berrios continues to be one of the bright spots on this baseball team, having another quality start against a powerhouse offense in the Baltimore Orioles.
