    12/01/2022 Duración: 14min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel gave his second of 2 interviews with Alley Einstein for "Big Pictures & Strong Features," on February 15, 2008. Writing a story about UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, the writer’s purpose for this second interview sought to make arrangements for conducting a conference call interview with a polygamous family and for making compensation to the TruthBearer.org organization for the story. The writer was an established independent writer for British magazines, including Fabulous, More, and Take a Break. (NOTE: “UIC” was also written on the physical audiocassette tape of the original copy of this interview. She was also known as "Alison Rose," being a TV journalist in Australia.) Listeners may hear that first interview in the previous podcast episode. • Alley Einstein independently interviewed Mark Henkel (UK) -1- Feb 2008

    05/01/2022 Duración: 38min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel gave his first of 2 interviews with Alley Einstein for "Big Pictures & Strong Features," on February 13, 2008.  The writer was an established independent writer for British magazines, including Fabulous, More, and Take a Break. (NOTE: “UIC” was also written on the physical audiocassette tape of the original copy of this interview.  She was also known as "Alison Rose," being a TV journalist in Australia.) In addition to learning about what she called "mature polygamy," the writer was (successfully) contracting with Mark Henkel to organize a conference call with a family in UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. The agreement would limit the article to only the print edition - neither for the United States nor anything online. She also agreed to many required conditions, too.  The writer asked many excellent questions. Mark Henkel provided several excellent soundbites. When Mark Henkel used the term, “Multiple Monogamy,” the writer said “I like tha

  • CBC The Current - Gregor Craigie - to interview Mark Henkel - Feb 2005

    29/12/2021 Duración: 07min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was to be interviewed by Gregor Craigie for "The Current," a morning radio program on CBC, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, on February 4, 2005.   Earlier that week, a new federal bill had been submitted to legalize same sex marriage in Canada.  (That bill would eventually pass later in Canada that year on July 20, 2005, as "The Civil Marriage Act.") The news cycle raised questions about whether the same rights would have to include UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. The producer wanted to ask Mark Henkel questions to use on a show the following week. As Mark Henkel was recovering from having the flu, they agreed to do the interview the next week if the producer got approval.  When Mark Henkel had not heard back by the following Tuesday (February 8, 2005), he called the producer back. The seemingly eager and positive producer continued to want to do the story, but he had still not received approval from his editors.  Ultimately, n

  • Court TV Morning Radio Vinnie Politan interviewed Mark Henkel - Dec 2007

    22/12/2021 Duración: 06min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was on Court TV Morning Radio with Vinnie Politan, on satellite Sirius 110, on December 21, 2007.   Mark Henkel was included as one of the host's favorite past guests over the previous year. For that reason, the host invited Mark Henkel to appear on this "Christmas Special" show.  Mostly, this appearance was a brief but fun exchange, wishing a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the perspective of UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy. This was the second year in a rowin which the host had invited Mark Henkel to be on the  "Christmas Special."  At the same time, this was the host's very last episode of his show too.  As Mark Henkel was brough on the air to speak, eh got cut off.  The producer reconnected and brought him back on, and the host started fresh. Clearly enjoying Mark Henkel as a guest, the host always kept it fun and Mark Henkel responded  with equally fun answers. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com ---

  • New York Times Mary Fischer interviewed Mark Henkel -2- Mar 2002

    15/12/2021 Duración: 35min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Mary Fischer for the New York Times, on March 15, 2002. The second of two calls, this is the larger interview conducted the next day. The writer had already begun writing an article about non-Mormon based polygamy and she had been referred to Mark Henkel as the authority on the topic. This half-hour interview provides comprehensive education, insights, and soundbites.  Conducted only 6 months after the infamous 9/11 (2001) tragedy, Mark Henkel mentioned the positive Open Directory Project (ODP) of DMOZ.org as well as the negative Tom Green whom he identified as the "polygamy Tim MacVeigh."  Mark Henkel shared the Biblical arguments of Christian Polygamy, detailed how the movement had started and grown since 1994, and explained the “House of Cards” analogy for persuading others of the "Polygamy Rights Win-Win Solution for ending the Marriage Debate." http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spot

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by Mary Fischer for the New York Times, on March 14, 2002. This was the first of two calls, with the larger interview conducted the following day. The writer had already begun writing an article about non-Mormon based polygamy.  She had learned of Mark Henkel as an established authority on the topic through the author of a new book at the time (“A Three Ring Marriage”) whose website for the book was ordered and hosted by the webhosting services of the TruthBearer.org organization, founded by Mark Henkel. • 20/20 ABC News Kristina Kendall pre-interviewed Mark Henkel -4- Jan 2008

    01/12/2021 Duración: 31min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was pre-interviewed a 4th time by Kristina Kendall, producer for John Stossel, on "20/20" on ABC News TV, on January 24, 2008. This episode is the second of the two newly-found "lost interviews" for this specific television project. This half-hour interview occurred two weeks after the producer and Mark Henkel had flown together to film and interview a UCAP (Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy) family from Mark Henkel's organization for three days, in preparation of the project.  The purpose of this additional pre-interview was to prepare for the next step of flying Mark Henkel to New York for the formal taped interview with John Stossel himself (on January 30, 2008) for the segment that eventually aired on July 18, 2008.  Herein, Mark Henkel makes his startling, hilarious, yet powerful soundbite about the hypocrisy in the same sex marriage debate: "Marriage controllers say that they are usually conservatives for limited government, but instead what they are,

  • 20/20 ABC News Kristina Kendall pre-interviewed Mark Henkel -3- Dec 2007

    25/11/2021 Duración: 59min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was pre-interviewed a 3rd time by Kristina Kendall, producer for John Stossel, on "20/20" on ABC News TV, on December 18, 2007. This episode is one of the two newly-found "lost interviews" for this specific television project.  Earlier that day, Mark Henkel had given a lengthy interview with the producer. At the end of that first December 28, 2007, interview (which was previously+ broadcast as a past episode of this podcast), she asked to call Mark Henkel back later that same day. This specific "lost interview" is the call she made later that day. This hour-long interview contains numerous educational insights, excellent soundbites, and enjoyable discussion. Just a few examples include a detailed understanding about Love-not-Force, the possible teaser of how some UCAP (Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy) supporters have called Mark Henkel as "the next Martin Luther for Christians and the next Martin Luther King for civil rights," how other African Americans who d

  • FOXNews Greta Van Susteren (Kerry O'Connor) interviewed Mark Henkel -9- Aug 2006

    17/11/2021 Duración: 18min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel spoke for 9th & last time with producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on August 23, 2006. This final conversation was the ninth of nine (9of9) discussions with this producer over a few months in 2006. Likewise from the previous interview with this producer, this interview once again referenced the fact that the previous Saturday had been the official “Polygamy Day ®”. In this last discussion in this series, the producer and Mark Henkel discussed ways that they could organize a "tour” of interviewing polygamous families. Mark Henkel explained how that could possibly happen, also re-iterating the essential protocols that he called “The 3 Anons” - i.e.,  Mosaics, Voice Changes, and Pseudonyms for the families recorded.  The producer agreed, understanding the necessity of the protocols. The discussion ended with plans to explore such possibilities. Ultimately, though, this podcast episode concludes wi

  • FOXNews Greta Van Susteren (Kerry O'Connor) interviewed Mark Henkel -8- Aug 2006

    10/11/2021 Duración: 04min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel spoke for 8th time with producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on August 21, 2006. This was the eighth of nine (8of9) discussions with this producer over the following months in 2006.  The Saturday before this conversation had been the official “Polygamy Day ®.”  Mark Henkel noted that the show had reported of Mormon polygamists rallying in Utah on that day, but he had not received any call about it to balance it out beyond the “Mormon stereotype.”  The producer said that she had not been part of that segment as she had been working on a different story. Being called away at the end of this conversation, she  stated her intention to get back to Mark Henkel later.  The final discussion in this series of nine interview conversations will be presented in the next episode of this podcast. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod

  • FOXNews Greta Van Susteren (Kerry O'Connor) interviewed Mark Henkel -7- July 2006

    03/11/2021 Duración: 05min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel spoke for 7th time with producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on July 31, 2006. This was the seventh of nine (7of9) discussions with this producer over the following months in 2006. That week, famous actor and one of the few known conservative and pro-Christian actors, Mel Gibson, had been arrested for drunken driving and was recorded making racist rants to the officer. Conservatives and Christians responded that they cannot be defined by what one person does.  Mark Henkel noted that that is exactly his own argument when conservatives try to condemn all UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, by the anecdotes of Warren Jeffs and his FLDS cult.  Mark Henkel even noted how one example of TV interview he gave earlier that year on which a conservative pundit had tried to do exactly that to him - and how Mark Henkel correctly used the same argument in reply back then that conservatives were suddenly al

  • FOXNews Greta Van Susteren (Kerry O'Connor) interviewed Mark Henkel -6- July 2006

    27/10/2021 Duración: 02min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel spoke for 6th time with producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on July 19, 2006. This was the sixth of nine (6of9) discussions with this producer over the following months in 2006.  Mark Henkel had noted that, the day before, the US House of Representatives had failed to pass the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment.  Although interested in that story angle for bringing Mark Henkel onto her show, the producer indicated that the show was then-currently focused on war rerporting "all the time" for at least another week.  Subsequent interviews between the two will be broadcast in the forthcoming podcast episodes. http://www.NationalPolygamyAdvocate.com --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/nationalpolygamyadvocate/support

  • FOXNews Greta Van Susteren (Kerry O'Connor) interviewed Mark Henkel -5- June 2006

    20/10/2021 Duración: 21min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed a 5th time by producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on June 27, 2006. This was the fifth of nine (5of9) discussions with this producer over the following months in 2006. Mark Henkel had noted that the three-year-anniversary (6/26/2006) of the US Supreme Court decision of Lawrence v. Texas (6/25/2003) had passed, removing their opportunity to use that news-story as the way to get him onto the show. The producer followed-up with more questions about the then-current story about “Heartland Ministry” in Missouri having their children removed by the federal government. Mark Henkel said that he could find no connection to polygamy. The producer admitted that the suggestion had come from an attorney for the government. Mark Henkel replied that that person was simply a rumor-mongerer.  The interview also brought up how renowned Christian leader, Jerry Falwell, was fully and publicly aware of Mark

    13/10/2021 Duración: 19min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed a 4th time by producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on June 5, 2006. This was the fourth of nine (4of9) discussions with this producer over the following months in 2006.  In this interview, the producer asked about a then-current story about “Heartland Ministry” in Missouri having their children removed, and how the federal government had dropped an innuendo that that Christian community “might” also be “involved in polygamy.” When Mark Henkel called it a rumor and asked who had put that rumor out, the producer said that it was “from the government.”  Mark Henkel said that he had never heard of the ministry but said he would put “feelers” out within his organization for more information.  This interview addressed other issues as well. Mark Henkel gave a new version of his “right to imagination” soundbite in which he explained that people even have a right to believe that “square

    06/10/2021 Duración: 04min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed a 3rd time by producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on June 5, 2006. This was the third of nine (3of9) discussions with this producer over the following months in 2006. As Warren Jeffs was still "on the lam," and the first season of HBO’s “Big Love” was still be broadcast, the producer for this show on FOX had, in previous discussions wiht Mark Henkel, wanted to present "the other side of polygamy." In the previous interview (on May 25, 2006), she had been seeking to get Mark Henkel on the show for June 2, 2006. That did not happen. Other news had called the producer away. Mark Henkel kept trying to reach her by phone until the call succeeded on June 5, 2006. Together, they discussed how US President George W. Bush was about to speak that day about the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment, which was about to start being debated in the Senate the next day, on the date of 6/6/6. The producer neede

  • FOXNews Greta Van Susteren (Kerry O'Connor) interviewed Mark Henkel -2- May 2006

    29/09/2021 Duración: 03min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed a 2nd time by producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on May 25, 2006.  This was the second of nine (2of9) discussions with this producer over the following months in 2006. As Warren Jeffs was still "on the lam," and the first season of HBO’s “Big Love” was still be broadcast, the producer for this show on FOX wanted to present "the other side of polygamy."  The producer said that she almost had called Mark Henkel on Friday, May 19th, to have him on, but other breaking news happened.  They discussed possible logistics for his possibly being on the show the following Friday (June 2).  The producer said that the host was out “fighting gators in Florida” (and other stories) and that the producer would speak with that host the next day.  This was a short discussion; even so, it is essential to inform of the pattern of calls between the producer and Mark Henkel over the months

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by producer Kerry O'Connor for "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren" on FOX News television network, on May 18, 2006.  This was the first of nine (1of9) discussions with this producer over the following months in 2006. As Warren Jeffs was still "on the lam," and the first season of HBO’s “Big Love” was still be broadcast, the producer for this show on FOX wanted to present "the other side of polygamy." Mark Henkel provided some quick education. He helped the producer understand that not all polygamy occurs “in the Mormonland bubble” of Utah/Arizona. He adamantly declared that normal families in UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, equally oppose the crimes for which Warren Jeffs was being sought and accused (and later convicted). And Henkel told a story of one family in the TruthBearer.org organization that had been sued by a violent wife-beating ex-husband to get back child custody only because anti-polygamy laws were “on the books,” to allo

  • HLN Nancy Grace Show (Alexis Weed) interviewed Mark Henkel - Jan 2014

    15/09/2021 Duración: 41min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by producer Alexis Weed for the Nancy Grace Show on HLN Headline News television network, on January 14, 2014. They were seeking a response to the December 13, 2013, decision by a federal judge in Utah to strike down the "cohabitation clause" in that State's bigamy law.  Although later over-turned in 2016, that temporary court decision effectively de-criminalized "de facto polygamy" (i.e., polygamy with only one wife having a government marriage license) in Utah at the time. The producer did attempt to get pushy at times, but Mark Henkel stood his ground and they positively agreed to organize a live interview a couple hours later on the show. When speaking of the false stereotyping of UCAP, Unrelated Consenting Adult Polygamy, Mark Henkel said, “You can't compare all football players to Jerry Sandusky and his crimes.” The producer exclaimed, "I like that example. I do." This podcast episode is the pre-interview with the producer. The live TV interv

  • CourtTV Bloom & Politan (Anne Hartmayer) interviewed Mark Henkel Sept 2007

    08/09/2021 Duración: 20min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by producer Anne Hartmayer for "OPEN COURT: Bloom & Politan" on CourtTV on September 19, 2007, for his appearance on the show the next day. Mark Henkel had previously been on Vinnie Politan’s CourtTV-radio show a number of times, as organized with producer Mark Goldman. Anne Hartmayer was the producer for the TV show that Vinnie Politan co-hosted with Lisa Bloom, so she was already used to working with Mark Goldman. (She learned of Mark Henkel from Mark Goldman.)  When another producer for another CourtTV television show, Deb Cote for “Jami Floyd: Best Defense,” learned of Mark Henkel’s booking for “OPEN COURT: Bloom & Politan,” Anne Hartmayer shared the referral, putting Deb Cote in contact with Mark Henkel too. On Tuesday, September 18, 2007, Deb Cote interviewed Mark Henkel to book him for her other show. They discussed looking into making arrangements for him to fly to New York City – at his own expense - to appear live on her other sho

  • CourtTV Jami Floyd Best Defense (Deb Cote) interviewed Mark Henkel Sept 2007

    01/09/2021 Duración: 09min

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed by producer Deb Cote for "Jami Floyd: Best Defense" on CourtTV on September 18, 2007. This was in preparation for Mark Henkel's first appearance on the host's show. That day, the prosecution in the Warren Jeffs trial in Utah had rested its case. Mark Henkel had been a previous guest of another show on CourtTV, "Open Court: Bloom & Politan," as well as on a separate CourtTV radio show hosted by Vinnie Politan. The producers for the three shows all wanted Mark Henkel to be on their shows. In this interview, this producer was trying to book Mark Henkel while knowing that he was also being sought for the other shows on the same network. Mark Henkel had been looking into the cost flying himself to New York City (to be paid out of his own pocket) to do a "tour" of the shows. The producer and Mark Henkel also discussed possibilities of his driving to a CNN studio in Boston. Two days later, Mark Henkel appeared as a "phoner" guest (i.e., via telephone), fir
