We talked last week about how the church in Corinth was surrounded by an intellectualized, wise culture that had a hard time accepting the foolish message of the cross of Christ. Paul was encouraging them to go back to their personal experience with God and how He impacted their lives and begin to boast about the goodness and power of God. When we do this something significant happens in your life and the life of those around you - both in the natural and the spiritual! God's presence comes down and changes lives!

The Corinthian church had strayed from the original gospel that Paul preached to them. It became about fancy, lofty words. It became about being able to comprehend the cross of Jesus with human reasoning and wisdom. Paul didn't come with these words, but simply came with a message about the demonstration of the Spirit's power in his life. We must come back to this place where our lives are centred around Jesus and the power of the cross in my life. Start there.
