Roberta's Pearls

Roberta has a barrel of laughs with her friend Reverend Righteous as she learns about his church in Oklahoma. With a visit from her nephew Timothy she is thrilled to answers a question of an inquiring college student with a Biblical name, and our episode ends with a moving sermon by Reverend Righteous involving a difficult calico cat.

With her nephew Emmet's help Roberta launches into this episode looking for a bagel company to sponsor the show, or at least for someone to ask her a question she can answer. Franzi Tanzen Kuh the fashion expert and author of "Color Me Beautiful Right Now!" is the delightful guest. Roberta is tickled pink when she gets to take the test for the "Many-A-Crayon" so she can figure out her "color animal" and dress properly.

On this podcasty I have Peter Chester Finster III. Am I classy or what? I know you have to be familiar with his BBC program, "Painting In the Spirit." What a delight to have someone with an English accent in my home. I felt so classy and it made me want to drink tea and wear wool socks. He talks to us about a very hurting artist in history who made some very poor choices in life. It reminded me of my cousin Bill but I won't go into that here. I also do a little advertisement for my local bookstore and coffee shop. Aren't they lucky!?

Because of a suggestion from her engineer nephew Emmet, Roberta attempts to use Siri as an assistant in her advice podcast. Things don't go well, as Roberta has it out with this electronic counterpart.

Well, it was real treat this month to have my best friend Gay Franks join me in making this podcasty. She is just one of those long time friends that I can't get rid of. Oh, and my nephew Tim drops by with some things I asked him to pick me up at the store as well while we were recording. My house is the hub of social activity for my neighborhood! I think you will be very impressed with how I demonstrate my knowledge in helping my dear Gay work through some nasty feelings. Remember emotion is about MOTION! I think someone famous said that- but you are welcome to give me credit. Now remember dear I AM HEAR FOR YOU, and would would love to assist you in any way possible, so drop me a note and I'll be happy to give you some advice to lighten up your life. Do you remember that song by Debby Boone? "You Lighten Up My Life?" That was a lovely song wasn't it? Hello my friends! So, before being exposed to the onslaught of questions and help-seekers I'm sure to encounter, I thought I would practice doing a radio podcast. So listen in as I answer a REAL QUESTION that was sent to Dear Abby. Hopefully she won't be too worried about the competition. Or is she dead? I remember either Abigail Van Buren or Ann Landers did pass. Oh my why can't I remember such things? It's not kind to forget peoples deaths. They were twins you know and both very smart, wise and lovely. Wouldn't that be neat? Having a sister who looks like you? (Well, not if you were a man.) What fun you could have playing tricks! Well, it would be fun that is if your sister was decent, polite, and thoughtful when she visited (did not just show up but gave you some warning), gave you gifts that were as nice as the ones you gave (not just store bought from Target)... but that is an all together different matter isn't it? I know it has been years since I've posted anything. Let's just say I wasn't sure that this whole inner net thing would last. Well, it seems it's here to stay. So, I guess I should stop being selfish with the advice I give to others and give my bounty of wisdom to you folks in computer land. God knows you need it with all the terrible tempting things that are on our computers. I can't keep my eyes off of items on Ebay and Etsy. So many wonders for sale! I have crochet many a toilet paper cover but I just had to put pictures here for your enjoyment of some of my recent favorites. You can buy these on your computer! Really, you can purchase them with a click of button and they are made by real people not robots. (Tricia I posted yours that you're selling right now like I told you I would.)
