Sinopsis

Hey, kids! This show takes random detours on topics such as politics, news, scandal, movies, television, celebrities, and gay shit (lots of gay stuff, honestly) and gives us a chance to attempt relevance in a room full of voices.

Episodios

  • Theatre Relevance

    31/03/2017 Duración: 01h09min

Hey, kids! This week we tackle theatre relevance, however Josh hijacks the beginning of the podcast to rant and rave about "Beauty and the Beast" remake. Luckily, Matt pulls the podcast back around to the intended topic of theatre. Yet again Josh goes off on a rant bad mouthing the newest theatre to arrive in their community and once the bitch is beckoned back into the cave they discuss the important moments that brought them into the stage curtains. Did they attempt theatre relevance? Probably not.

  • Religious Relevance

    19/03/2017 Duración: 01h04min

The boys attempt a modicum of relevance by discussing religion and the affects it's had on their lives. Let's just say that this is not kind toward faith of any kind, specifically toward Jehovah witnesses. Enjoy!

  • Political Relevance

    02/02/2017 Duración: 01h01min

As much as we attempted to avoid politics it was unavoidable. As this current climate grows hotter and more gusty with each day, one cannot avoid talking about the weather. In this episode we discuss the current administration, our disdain for trump, the idea of teaching creationism in school, immigration, and we even touch on religion. We're still finding our groove in these unpredictable times.  Maybe we'll have a format, but for the time being it will be just be four dudes attempting relevance.

  • Attempting Relevance - The Mediocre Return

    25/01/2017 Duración: 01h07min

We have returned! Maybe not as successfully as we had previously, as we lack a host or any real direction, but we're back. If you're looking for a format, you've come to the wrong place we have nothing for you. Instead what we lack in any real premise we make up for in our randomness. In this new episode we discuss a bevy of topics including (but not limited to) weightloss, my mother's alleged affair, gay shit, and possibly Trump, all in a spitfire conversation. Can you keep up in our attempt of relevance?

  • Sexual Relevance

    29/09/2015 Duración: 01h33min

This is probably our most sexual episode yet, just in terms of topics and what is mentioned. While we don't delve into graphic detail we do dip a toe into the dark waters of the taboo. I'm not 100% sure who will be listening to this weeks episode as our number one fan is on as a guest this week.  He brings tech relevance by bringing the discussion of Bitcoins and how that madness works. (Who knew you could 'mine' them?) Even with Julian's best efforts, our topics are sexual in nature.  We discuss the Kinsey scale and where most of us rank. Josh is a big 'ol six, which was no surprise there. Then we take a stroll down the path of strange sexual tales, which results in a first for the podcast. While Charlie tries to keep the source of his bizarre stories secret Josh is feeling rather bitchy and discloses the name, which of course has to be fixed in post. Censorship is not something we condone here at Attempting Relevance, when it results in the defamation of someone's identity (or possi

  • 9 Days Old and a Week Too Late

    24/09/2015 Duración: 01h14min

Hey kids, we’re a week behind on the podcasts. Mainly because writing/producing/performing your own stage variety show got in the way for one week and then to add insult to injury Josh decided to open up his big fucking mouth and mention someone’s name we happened to be talking about in a disparaging manner. So as topical as our podcast is it won’t be on point this week or quite possibly the next. But hey, at least you get to experience the episode that almost, very nearly, wasn’t going to be released due to Jesse getting upset at Roger and Charlie who kept interrupting him during his fish story. It gets acca-awkward real quick. Originally the episode was to be titled "Failing at Relevance" but I thought the retitle fit best. In this episode we discuss the exciting news of our brand spanking new website and subsequent shit talking due to Roger’s mistake of buying the wrong spelling. It’s Relevance not Relavance. But who hasn’t been so sure of something

  • Attempting Relevance - The Gayest One Yet

    09/09/2015 Duración: 01h14min

Hey kids! This weeks episode clocks in under budget and makes it suited for casual listening.  This is all in part due to Jesse making it his mission for us to stay on topic, and does so with some beautifully crafted transitions from one subject to the next. For an added bonus, this time we’re accompanied on our verbal journey by a female guest.   In our dance of discussion we cover the Cosby scandal that still delivers, now with the celebrity voice of Damon Wayans chiming in with some true douchebaggery.  To top of the overwhelming sense of entitlement we have our back and forth on Kim Davis, although this was before she was ceremoniously released from the pokey to “Eye of the Tiger.” (What a cunt.)   Riding the rainbow of gayety we discuss the plight of homosexual veterans dismissed from the army with a black mark.   I must confess, I find our episode unrivaled for it's homosexual flavor.   The most astounding of moments was catching the rare sound

  • Attempting Relevance - Awfully Offensive

    04/09/2015 Duración: 01h52min

This week we go the longest yet while getting terribly, awfully, offensive.  Josh and Jesse recreate a debacle on eBay, where josh uses a cruel and poorly done accent to vent his anger. (Please be advised it is done in the attempt of comedy and do not advocate any cruelty or harm to any minority or group.) From their we dive right on into the 2015 Video Music Awards (VMAs) where Kanye West announces his plans for a 2020 presidential run. Following up we discuss the fabricated drama between celebrities, MIley Cyrus and her surprise album drop, and how we're too old to get this young people shit. For whatever reason, we go off on a heterosexual tangent and discuss boxing. In particular, we discuss Pacquiao and Mayweather. The next topic brought to the table is Ashley Madison and the possiblity that 3 out of 10 were actually women looking to have an affair. The majority of which could be found in Saudi Arabia where adultery is punishable by death. Knowing you may die from a sexual trist does

  • Attempting Relevance - Ep 2 Deviance of the Highest Order

    28/08/2015 Duración: 01h26min

Who would have thought we would finally hit our stride?  It only took four episoides, I mean... one. We finally stay on topic with Ashley Madison and Jared Fogle.

  • Attempting Relevance - Don't Challenge the Creepiness - E1

    20/08/2015 Duración: 01h10min

In a jaded attempt at relevance we try to stay on hot topics to give our thoughts.  Yet, we fail miserably as our podcast gets hijacked by Roger proving his monicker is deserved.  He truly is VCR.
