Richard reminded us that God has exact places where we should live and that we are part of God's growing Kingdom. With this in mind there were 5 helpful tips for students and for the church!

Julian shared about how to develop a culture of faith - much more about Jesus and who he is than who I am. Matthew 15:21-28

From the story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 we learn that the heart is so important; compassion more than concern. Jesus loves getting the disciples involved and the results are supernatural. Before He prays Jesus looks up: we are to keep our eyes fixed on our Father in Heaven and see what He is doing. Matthew 14:13-21

Community is a theme that runs right through the Bible: from God, in the garden of Eden, at the Cross and to Heaven. Redeemer is committed to building community groups that reflect this by Growing as believers and by Going to others with the good news.

We are a New Creation in Christ. For it is by grace you have been saved. Galatians 6

The book of Galatians is absolutely dripping with the language of freedom... but what is true freedom? Adam explores how we are only really liberated when we realise our full potential, within the environment that we were made for. Gal 5:1-26.

We focus in on Paul's big metaphor from the beginning of Galatians 4 - that God is a father who adopts, through the work of Jesus, and the Holy Spirit makes it personal to each of us.

Pete explained the argument of Paul through 5 people with 5 objects: the wizards & wands, Abraham & knife, Moses & rod, Jesus & cross, Father & hand. Galatians 3

The Christian life ultimately comes down to two words: stop trying. Galatians 2

Paul wrote to the churches urgently encouraging them to stick with the gospel: Jesus + nothing = everything. If we change the gospel it is no gospel at all, instead we are to take the true gospel to all. Galatians 1

As a result of the difference Jesus and his love for his disciples, the early church were generous in giving. Edward shared stories of the work of Tearfund in places like Myanmar & Uganda and stirred us all to be involved in giving to the poor around the world. Acts 2:42-47

We are all designed with an inner thirst and we can look for many things to bring satisfaction - jobs, possessions & relationships. Yet we still remain desiring more. Jesus said he can quench our thirst. John 4

Elijah takes a message from God to the king and nation; stop wavering, turn back to God, look for the supernatural and have your eyes opened to see Him! 1 Kings 18:16-40

As Christians we are keen to follow the will of God - yet there are so many decisions to make! God guides through the circumstances of life, through the prophetic, through the counsel of others, through common sense and the word of God. Acts 16:6-10

Elijah is confronted with the tragedy of the widows son dying. Elijah responds by crying out to God and sees the 1st recorded account in the Bible of the dead being raised. 1 Kings 17:17-24

Elijah leaves the dried up brook and travels to Sidon where a poor widow about to die witnesses the miracle of the oil and flour that do not run out. 1 Kings 17:6-16

Elijah confronts King Ahab with the devastating news there will be no rain for over 3 years.The rain does return after Elijah prays. Yet the story is really about God: His word, His provisions, His commands, His actions. God who is supreme! 1 Kings 17 & 18.

Worship the Father wants. Praise the Lord, sing a new song, with others, joyfully and remember to dance. Psalm 149

Adam shows us how our understanding of the rule & reign of Christ impacts the way in which we serve the kingdom. Using Psalm 2 we see how God describes himself as King, helping us to get a bigger picture of how there is only one true King... Jesus. Psalm 2:1-12.

Although Londoners don't daily see sheep & shepherds this Biblical image reveals lots to us about God: He provides, He guides, He protects, He is faithful, He is tender and He fights for us. In Jesus we see a shepherd who personally knows all the sheep and is prepared to die for them. Psalm 23 & John 10.
