WCW: The Legacy Series - Uncensored '97

Following a trifecta of wrestling specials this week, 'Plan and Mav hit the studio to provide their thoughts on all three. Hear about their love of the two hour special as a format for wrestling, the impression Pete Dunne made this weekend in two bravura showings, why they hated the Tomasso Ciampa heel turn, how the NXT women are setting themselves apart from their main roster counterparts and why Hideo Itami had nothing to prove to anyone (but knocked it out of the park just in case). This week, The Doc goes with the flow of WWE's game of PPV roulette and previews Smackdown Live's brand-exclusive event, Backlash.  Wait, didn't we just have Backlash?  Anyhow, Jinder Mahal has a shot at the WWE Championship, so the show's foundation is pretty shaky, unless of course you consider Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles to be the real foundation, in which case the foundation is rock solid.  What an interesting tale of two headlining matches.  The Doc will break down the entire card and get you primed for the blue team's first PPV, post-Mania 33. Also, NXT takes over Chicago this Saturday night in a card that, on paper, looks primed to easily steal Smackdown's thunder.

WCW: The Legacy Series - Superbrawl '97

This week, 'Plan and Mav delve into the New Generation and Attitude back catalogues to discuss three men who, had they come along a little later, would've been prime candidates to be internet favourites. During the 90s, several underrated workhorses emerged and killed it on a weekly basis, but never quite got the recognition (or push?) that they deserved. The classic IWC narrative around such talents has never been applied until now...but what if there HAD been an internet back then? Hear why Owen Hart was in many ways a missed opportunity for the company, how Sean Waltman sprinkled midcard stardust on two eras but is cruelly remembered for the ugly end to his WWE career, and finally why Marty Janetty was the TV MVP from 1993 and deserves to be celebrated far more than he is.
