Let's use $400,000 to keep the math easy. On average, that would gross the listing agent $12,000. Let's say the net profit to that listing agent is $9,600 on that transaction after fees, etc. $9,600 x 22 = $115,200. That's a good reason to list and sell 22 homes in 2022. This is ultimately the most important number to focus on. Example: Let’s say you want to make $120,000 gross commission. Your average commission to you is $8,000. You’ll need 15 total transactions. 12 (80%) should be listings. Concentrate on generating those 12 opportunities. 8 - It’s easier to go fast than slow. 12 listings in a year are harder to focus on than setting one qualified listing appointment per week or per day for some agents.
